Memphis vs West Virginia Frisco Bowl player props
Prop bet #1: Mario Anderson Jr. Over 23.5 receiving yards
Memphis Tigers running back Mario Anderson Jr. has been dominant, scampering for 1,292 rushing yards with seven or more 100+ games on the ground.
His rushing prop could go either way, but he’s become a valuable pass-catching option for the Tigers and has a good opportunity to exceed his receiving yards prop tonight.
The West Virginia Mountaineers do better against the rush than the pass. Anderson may be needed in the passing game, as he has cleared 24 receiving yards in five of his last six games.
Anderson also recorded receptions of at least 14 yards or more six times this season and meets a West Virginia defense that allowed 50 passing plays of 20+ yards.
Anderson is a big, bruising back, and if he gets out in the open ground — and he usually does — the Mountaineers won’t easily prevent him from clearing 24+ receiving yards.
The senior running back averages 6.3 yards per reception and has caught at least one pass in every game, including 10 multiple-reception games.
Prop bet #2: Seth Henigan Over 9.5 rushing yards
Memphis senior signal-caller Seth Henigan has a tasty throwing matchup, but his rushing yards prop offers better value.
Henigan will let it fly against a bad West Virginia secondary. And while the Mountaineers’ passing defense may be shaky, West Virginia will likely come after Henigan, and the Tigers' offensive line doesn’t always keep the QB's jersey clean.
That’s usually where he calls his number — Henigan has been sacked 19 times, including four times in the season finale against Tulane. He’s rushed for 129 yards on 72 attempts, which is likely why he’ll clear 9.5 rushing yards tonight.
Henigan has eight rushing attempts of 10+ yards or more this season. The Tigers quarterback has cleared 9.5 rushing yards in six of his previous nine and meets a West Virginia stop unit that allowed 63 rushing plays of 10+ yards or better.
He has 5+ rushing attempts in each of his last six. Time to make it seven.
Prop bet #3: Garrett Greene Over 203.5 passing yards
West Virginia quarterback Garrett Greene completed 58% of his 275 passing attempts for 1,972 yards for the Mountaineers in 2024.
He’s thrown for 204+ passing yards in six of his previous 10, and I like his chances to do it again tonight for a couple of reasons.
The main one is Greene and West Virginia might face an early deficit and be forced to throw the football more often. Greene has attempted 28+ passes six times and cleared 204 passing yards every time he's slung that many attempts.
The other reason is Memphis' defense allows 252 passing yards per game and nearly 13 yards per completion. That number spikes to almost 15 yards per completion away from home.
I expect Greene and the Mountaineers to be pitching from behind. Greene can sling it and has cleared his passing yards prop in four of his last six.
