Get set for the second game of the Jimmy V Classic when the Michigan Wolverines meet the Arkansas Razorbacks at historic Madison Square Garden tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Freshman guard Boogie Fland has been exceptional for the Razorbacks, and my Michigan vs. Arkansas predictions anticipate a big night of swishing and dishing for the NYC native.

My analysis
Every kid dreams of playing at legendary Madison Square Garden, especially Arkansas Razorbacks freshman guard Boogie Fland.
Fland grew up in the Bronx, a 55-minute train ride on the "Deuce" to Madison Square Garden. He’s heard all the tales about legendary NYC point guards, likely watched many games in that famous arena, and even starred on this floor in high school.
The frosh guard is your typical NYC guard. He’s silky smooth and plays with swagger. He has handles and dishes the rock with the best of them, but Fland can knock down the triple, unlike many past NYC legends.
Fland is draining 40% of his attempts from downtown. While he’s coming off a 0-for-3 night from beyond the arc against UTSA, he knocked down 2+ in six of his previous eight and meets a Michigan Wolverines squad allowing a minuscule 29%.
Nothing will prevent Fland from finding his shot in tonight’s uptempo affair. Michigan turns the ball over too much and Arkansas gets rips, and they turn those steals into buckets.
Usually, that involves Fland on a trailer three, but the New York native can also pull up and drop a deep one in the half-set, and the extra possessions brought on by the pace should bring additional 3-point opportunities.
Fland will get the minutes (32.5) and the opportunity to shoot the long ball. The faster tempo and the Wolverines' recklessness with the rock will add to those opportunities.
The Bronx native has drained 2+ in six of his last eight and will be looking for his shot to prove he’s an elite NYC point guard.
Michigan vs Arkansas same-game parlay
Fland leads the Razorbacks in assists. He’s dropped 4+ dimes in four of his last five for an Arkansas side, shooting 50% from the field and 36% from downtown.
The fast pace will also help fuel Fland’s assists.
It will also help Michigan center Danny Wolf score at least 13 points.
Wolf is a big kid with good wheels. He moves well, and he’ll have a considerable height advantage. He can score in the paint and off the offensive glass. Wolf has scored 13+ in three straight and is playing with confidence.
