The new college basketball season has tipped off, bringing March Madness odds back into focus as Danny Hurley and the UConn Huskies try to become the second school ever to three-peat as champions.
The 3-0 Huskies top the college basketball odds board thus far, but they are not clear-cut favorites, as plenty of familiar blue bloods are right alongside them.

It's no surprise that two-time defending champion UConn is the favorite, sitting at +850, but for the second straight year, Hurley will try to extend the program's dominance with almost all of his top contributors gone — Alex Karaban is the only returning player among the Huskies' top five scorers from last season.
UConn was also just No. 3 on the preseason AP poll: No. 1 was 4-0 Kansas (+850 to +1,000), who has Hunter Dickinson, KJ Adams Jr., and Dajuan Harris firing on all cylinders to begin the season.
There is also the case of the Duke Blue Devils, who are third on the odds board in the 10/1 range and have the nation's No. 1-ranked freshman (and projected first-overall NBA Draft pick) in Cooper Flagg, because, well, it's Duke.
Jon Scheyer's squad is currently the biggest betting liability at BetMGM, leading all schools with 18.8% of the betting handle and 15.7% of all tickets to cut down the nets in April.
