View all Covers PicksMaple Leafs to Score First (-145)
Nashville is averaging a league-low 2.32 goals per game this season. That number drops down to 1.83 while on the road. Meanwhile, Toronto is averaging 3.29 goals per game on home ice this season and has opened the scoring in eight of its 12 games at home. The Buds have also allowed the fewest goals against at Scotiabank Arena, giving up just 1.83 per game. With Nashville’s lack of scoring and Toronto’s superb goaltending and ability to limit quality chances, the Preds will struggle to find offense tonight — especially early.
Toronto (-155)
This may not be the sexiest pick on the board, but at this price, there's no better option. The Nashville Predators are a sinking stone. They've dropped four straight including three straight 3-2 OT losses. While I know they were just a shot away from winning any of those three games, the fact remains the offense is the worst in the league, by quite a margin, and the defense ranks in the bottom third when it comes to keeping the pucks out of their net. The Leafs, in my opinion, have not hit their full potential yet despite going 8-2 across their last 10 games. On the heels of a 4-1 win vs. Chicago, this is a game the Buds should win by at least two goals.
