Rams 16, 49ers 13 (OT): Greg Zuerlein kicked a 54-yard field goal at 14:34 of overtime as host St. Louis avoided another tie and secured back-to-back wins for the second time this season.
David Akers missed a 51-yard field-goal attempt wide right, giving the Rams the ball at their own 41-yard line. Steven Jackson converted one first down to get them into field-goal range before Zuerlein booted the game-winner.
Sam Bradford ended up with 221 passing yards and Jackson totaled 117 yards from scrimmage for St. Louis (5-6-1), which played San Francisco to a 24-24 tie on the road in Week 10.
The Rams trailed 7-0 at the break but got back into it on defense in the second half, starting with a third-quarter safety when 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone. San Francisco tacked on a field goal, but Kaepernick was victimized again with 3:11 left, when he fumbled deep in his own territory and Janoris Jenkins ran it two yards back for a touchdown. The two-point conversion knotted it at 10-10.
The 49ers (8-3-1) drove for a go-ahead 33-yard field goal with 1:38 left, but Bradford led St. Louis back into San Francisco territory and Zuerlein booted a 53-yarder as time expired to force the extra period.
