Albert Pujols had a solo home run and four RBIs, Shohei Ohtani hit a pinch hit three-run homer, Taylor Ward added his first career major league home run and the visiting Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 11-7 Saturday night.
Pujols ended a 6-6 tie with an RBI single, Ohtani followed with his 13th homer of the season and Ward had a solo shot to complete a five-run top of the seventh against reliever Eddie Butler (2-3).
Pujols and Eric Young Jr. each had three hits for the Angels, and David Fletcher added two hits and three RBIs.
Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo and Elvis Andrus each had three hits for the Rangers.
Cam Bedrosian (5-2) allowed a single in two-thirds of an inning to pick up the win.
Rain delayed the start of the game by 2 hours, 26 minutes.
Angels left-hander Andrew Heaney allowed six runs, 10 hits and two walks while striking out five in 5 1/3 innings.
Rangers starter Martin Perez allowed six runs, nine hits and two walks in six innings. The left-hander struck out three.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first on a leadoff double by Odor and a single by Andrus.
Pujols tied the game with his 19th homer of the season in the second.
Texas regained the lead in the bottom of the second on Gallo's leadoff double and Carlos Tocci's two-out single.
The Angels scored twice in the third after Young and Kole Calhoun singled, advanced on Fletcher's sacrifice and scored on a single by Pujols.
The Angels took a 6-2 lead with a three-run fourth. Jefry Marte, Ward and Young singled to load the bases and scored on Fletcher's bases-clearing double.
The Rangers scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Gallo singled, Tocci walked and Odor hit an RBI single. Andrus struck out with two out but reached first base on a wild pitch as Tocci scored. Adrian Beltre blooped a two-run, game-tying single inside the right field line.
Bedrosian replaced Heaney with one out in the sixth after Odor's single.
Fletcher, Justin Upton and Pujols led off the seventh with singles against Butler to score one run. Ohtani hit his 13th homer of the season, his second as a pinch hitter, with one out, and Ward homered with two out.
Gallo doubled in the bottom of the seventh against Jose Alvarez and scored on a single by Robinson Chirinos.
Williams Jerez pitched a perfect eighth for the Angels.
Alex Claudio pitched around a hit batter and a single in the top of the ninth for Texas.
Blake Parker hit a batter and gave up a single in the ninth for Los Angeles, but Texas couldn't score.
