We are now into Week 14 of the NFL season, which means there are only five games left for teams to make a final push for a playoff spot, secure playoff seeding, and/or secure their tank to ensure the best possible draft pick.
This week, my Week 14 NFL picks against the spread go against most of my principles when it comes to betting on favorites.
Simply put, I'm done betting on bad teams, and you should be too.

Expert Week 14 ATS picks
Packers vs Lions
Lions -3.5
Everyone is waiting for the shoe to drop on the Detroit Lions' magical season, but I just don't see it happening here. I expect the Lions to be able to move the ball at will and for Jordan Love to be the one turning into a pumpkin under the bright lights.
Jaguars vs Titans
Titans -3.5
I'll take the lesser of two evils here, so give me the team with the better defense. The Titans are the best pass defense in the league, giving up 171.8 yards per game, and are ranked No. 2 in total yards, giving up 306.9 yards per game. If Will Levis can just not suck, we'll have a chance.
Falcons vs Vikings
Vikings -5.5
Do you want to bet on Kirk Cousins? He's been brutal at times this season and despite a 6-6 record, the Falcons feel like they've been running uphill the entire season. I'll take the Vikings here to continue to build on their momentum and extend their win streak to six games.
Panthers vs Eagles
Eagles -12.5
The Panthers gave the Chiefs and Bucs their best shot in back-to-back weeks and came up short in both games. Now they hit the road, and I don't see the energy level staying the same. I'll take the obviously better team, playing in front of their home fans for the second time in 30 days. Eagles roll.
Jets vs Dolphins
Dolphins -6
The Dolphins are still somewhat alive in the Wild Card race, but it's going to take something of a miracle for them to make it. Sadly, when the Jets are involved, that's enough motivation for me to back them. The Jets are thinking about next year, and every loss helps them get a better draft pick next year.
Browns vs Steelers
Steelers -6.5
Look, both teams gave up a boatload of points and yards in last week, but the Steelers' defense is the unit I trust more to bounce back. Not to mention the revenge angle. I'm looking for a Steelers blowout here.
Raiders vs Buccaneers
Buccaneers -6.5
I'm done backing bad teams, and the Raiders are just that. Hat tip to Brock Bowers for what he's doing, but the Bucs should roll at home.
Saints vs Giants
Giants +5
I know I literally just said I was done backing bad teams, but both teams in this game stink. Give me the points with the home side.
Seahawks vs Cardinals
Cardinals -2.5
Similar to the Browns/Steelers contest, I believe this is a great spot for the Cardinals to get their revenge on the Seahawks. In the first meeting, the Seahawks held them in check, but I've always said the Cardinals are a different team on the road than at home. We'll see the real Cardinals in this one.
Bears vs 49ers
Bears +4
No Christian McCaffrey, no Jordan Mason, a banged-up QB, a banged-up defense, and playoff hopes all but dashed. Yeah, no thanks. Give me the Bears here +4.

Bills vs Rams
Rams +4.5
Sure, the Bills looked dominant on Sunday Night Football, but now they have to fly across the country to take on a Rams team that's starting to find its stride. I'll bank on a letdown for the Bills on the road.
Chargers vs Chiefs
Chargers +4
Every week the Chiefs find themselves going through the motions, yet every week the Chiefs come out with a victory. That stops here as I'm calling for the Chargers to win outright.
Bengals vs Cowboys
Bengals -5.5
I hate myself for doing this, but the Cowboys offense has no business trading points with the Joe Burrow and the Bengals. If the Bengals' defense can just show up, they should win this one going away.
