My analysis
Notre Dame's rough luck is one of the significant factors in this current spread, moving a few points toward the Georgia Bulldogs.
Markus Burton, the team's most dynamic scorer, will miss several weeks with a knee injury he sustained against Rutgers. However, should the spread really have moved on that news when it was more or less known and thus baked into the line? This is too many points for a team that has played everyone close.
Per hoop-explorer, ball handling is the most significant impact with Burton off the floor. Without another secondary handler on the floor, its turnover rate spikes by nearly 6%. Luckily for Notre Dame, Georgia isn't a team that forces many turnovers.
Generally, the turnovers it does force are nullified by its issues with a rate in the Bottom 5% of college basketball. Of course, there are offensive issues without Burton on the floor, but head coach Micah Shrewsberry is so good and creative on that side of the ball that he can overcome these issues.
Without Burton on the floor, Notre Dame becomes a much more rim-focused team. This team sits in the Top 25% of basketball in running plays that result in a shot at the rim without him on the floor. I'd like the Irish to have success in this area against a Georgia team that's graded out above average in this area but really hasn't faced teams looking to get downhill.
Both of these teams have been tested, but Notre Dame may have legitimately played three Top-15 teams in four days by the season's end. I think this team is better than its record, and those experiences will have put the Irish in a prime position to cover this 9-point spread.

Braeden Shrewsberry is Notre Dame's best scorer on the floor tonight, but his effectiveness goes down significantly without Burton, as it gets much more attention. We see a usage boost for a player like Matt Allocco as a scorer while Shrewsberry's shooting and box rating decrease while and his assist rate increases slightly.
This parlay best captures that. To be most effective tonight, Shrewsbury will have to draw attention from defenders and find open options with that added attention. I expect him to do just that.
