Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Match Player Stats On Dec 08, 2021

Mark Stone notched the tying goal with 5:13 left in regulation and assisted on Max Pacioretty's go-ahead score a little more than a minute later as the Vegas Golden Knights rallied for a 5-4 win over the Dallas Stars on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The Golden Knights posted three unanswered goals in the last 10:01 to keep the Stars from posting a club-record eighth straight win.

With Vegas trailing 4-3, Stone scored his second goal of the night, sneaking uncontested into the slot to put home the tying rebound. Then, amid a scrum in front of the net, Pacioretty got enough of the puck with 4:06 remaining to put Vegas ahead for the first time.

Jonathan Marchessault and Michael Amadio also scored for the Golden Knights, who have won three in a row. Laurent Brossoit stopped 12 of 13 shots in relief of Robin Lehner, who was pulled in the second period after giving up three goals on 10 shots.

Alex Pietrangelo and Nicolas Hague each had two assists for Vegas.

Joe Pavelski scored twice and Jason Robertson had a goal with an assist to extend his point streak to seven games for the Stars, who lost for the second time in 11 contests. Dallas' Tyler Seguin also scored, Roope Hintz and John Klingberg each logged two assists and Braden Holtby made 40 saves.

Dallas opened the scoring on the man advantage with 10:30 left in the first period. Robertson delivered a long wrister through traffic and past Lehner.

Vegas had just under six minutes of power-play time during the opening 20 minutes but got nothing from it. However, just as a Golden Knights power play ended, Stone converted from the high circle 19 seconds into the middle period.

The game was tied for just 1:46 before Seguin gave the Stars their lead back when he knocked in a rebound of Jamie Benn's shot from the point. The Stars made it 3-1 when Pavelski deflected home Klingberg's drive for their third power-play goal in as many tries with 12:18 left in the second. That ended Lehner's night.

Vegas finally took advantage of a Dallas miscue, scoring through Marchessault on a delayed penalty with just 3:24 left in the second to make it a 3-2 game.

Pavelski's second of the night came on the rush and off a drop pass from Hintz with 11:04 remaining in regulation. Just 1:03 later and after Seguin missed an open net on the other end of the ice, Amadio beat Holtby to make it a one-goal contest again.
