No. 3 Georgia 42, Georgia Tech 10: Freshmen Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall ran for two touchdowns apiece as the host Bulldogs stayed on track for a chance at the national championship.
Georgia (11-1) beat the Yellow Jackets (6-6) for the fourth straight time - and 11th in 12 tries - while looking dominant heading into next weekกฏs SEC championship game. The Bulldogs set a program record for points in a season with 456, breaking the record of 454 set in 2002 over 14 games.
The Bulldogs needed just over a minute to jump on top 7-0. Following Malcolm Mitchellกฏs 47-yard kickoff return, Georgia went 44 yards on four plays, capped by Gurleyกฏs 3-yard scoring run. Tech was on the verge of tying it, but Robert Godhigh was stripped at the 1-yard line by safety Bacarri Rambo, who returned it to midfield. Gurleyกฏs 1-yard plunge made it 14-0.
Tech, which had scored 143 points in its three previous games, committed two turnovers, turned the ball over on downs four times and missed a field goal.
Georgia's Aaron Murray hit 14 of 17 throws for 215 yards and two touchdowns, giving him 89 career scoring passes. The Bulldogs have won 11 games for the fourth time in 12 years under coach Mark Richt.
