Tiger-Cats 29, Alouettes 15: Zach Collaros threw for 207 yards and a touchdown as host Hamilton cruised past Montreal to secure first place in the East Division on a wet, windy day at Tim Hortons Field.

Collaros completed 20-of-28 passes and overcame an interception to pace the Tiger-Cats (9-9), who needed to win by eight or more points to lock up top spot in the division. The victory gives Hamilton a first-round playoff bye and home-field advantage in the East final in two weeks.

Jonathan Crompton went 18-of-35 for 284 yards and a score for Montreal (9-9), who saw their six-game winning streak halted and are forced to host a first-round playoff game against BC. S.J. Green led the aerial assault with four catches for 103 yards while Tanner Marsh had just 10 rushing yards on four carries.

The Tiger-Cats surged ahead 11-0 after Chris Rainey fumbled Crompton's swing pass in the Montreal end zone, allowing Brandon Stewart to scoop it up for the easy touchdown. Sean Whyte answered with field goals of 23 and 30 yards to send Montreal into the break down 11-6.

Justin Medlock's 23-yard field goal extended the lead to eight points in the third quarter, and Brandon Banks put the game away with a 15-yard touchdown catch between a pair of Montreal defenders after a pass interference penalty had negated Luke Tasker's score one play earlier. Grigsby added a 6-yard score, and the Tiger-Cats overcame Crompton's scoring strike to Duron Carter with 19 seconds remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamilton finished 6-0 at the newly constructed Tim Hortons Field and allowed just 76 points over that span. ... Crompton dropped to 8-2 since becoming the starting quarterback. ... The Alouettes finished with 17 rushing yards on 12 attempts.
