Joey Meneses hit three run-producing doubles and added an RBI single in the Washington Nationals' 10-3 victory against the visiting New York Mets on Monday.
CJ Abrams homered as the Nationals managed to split the four-game series.
Meneses finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs, though he didn't score a run.
Nationals starter Patrick Corbin (2-5) went six innings for the victory. He allowed two runs on eight hits.
Mets starter David Peterson (1-6) gave up six runs on nine hits in five innings.
The Nationals scored at least one run in seven of the eight innings in which they batted. New York lost for the 11th time in its last 16 games.
Lane Thomas doubled twice among his three hits and scored three runs, and Abrams, Jeimer Candelario, Luis Garcia and Dominic Smith (two RBIs) all notched two hits among the 15 for the Nationals.
Starling Marte, Jeff McNeil and Eduardo Escobar had two hits apiece for the Mets, who loaded the bases with one out in the ninth and tacked on one run on Brandon Nimmo's groundout. New York racked up 11 hits and its batters struck out just twice.
Thomas and Meneses had doubles to churn out Washington's first-inning run. It was the third time in the series that the Nationals notched their first run with a first-inning hit by Meneses.
Washington scored first in all four games.
The Mets pulled even in the second inning on McNeil's single. That came after Marte reached on a two-out single, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.
In the third, the Nationals went back in front with another Meneses double. Keibert Ruiz's sacrifice fly made it 3-1.
After Abrams hit his fourth homer of the season and second of the series in the sixth, the Nationals stayed on the attack and posted another run on Meneses' infield single to push the lead to 8-2. Meneses had the final RBI for Washington with his eighth-inning double.
