My analysis
The Atlanta Hawks have moved above .500 for the first time since being 2-1, and they've certainly earned it along the way. Atlanta has now won five straight, and it's done it while undergoing a significant defensive overhaul.
The Hawks have kept teams to 112 points or less in four straight, which doesn't fare well for a Los Angeles Lakers offense that has put up an average of 92.8 points in their last four.
And during the Hawks' five-game streak, they have posted a 105.2 defensive rating, the third-best mark during said stretch. Their offense hasn't been far behind, ranking eighth during that time.
The Hawks possess advantages elsewhere as well, having the ninth-best rebounding rate on the season to Los Angeles' sixth-worst rate.
Making matters worse for Los Angeles is Lebron James being listed as questionable for tonight's contest, making its outlook even worse for tonight.

While Los Angeles may have its fair share of struggles tonight, one thing it might do decently well is contain Trae Young.
The 22.0 points allowed to point guards per game ranks as the fifth-lowest on the season, and despite Atlanta's winning ways as of late, Young has been rather quiet, averaging just 16.8 points during that time.
On the other side of the matchup, the Hawks should be able to limit Anthony Davis' impact on the glass.
Their 20.2 rebounds allowed to opposing centers is the sixth-lowest per-game mark on the season, and Davis has gone Under his 11.5 total for tonight in six of his last eight against the Hawks.
