With Wimbledon just days away, former American star Andy Roddick appears to have something up his sleeve in time for Tennis’ most prestigious tournament.
In a new video released via Betway USA’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the 41-year-old appears in front of a group of microphones in what is labeled as a press announcement.

“I am ecstatic to announce my return to competitive tennis,” Roddick says in the commercial tease. “For far too long, there has been a tournament that has eluded me. But now with Betway, I have the advantage to make this story a happy one.
"And I promise I will win Wimbledon.”
The advertisement, of course, references Roddick’s famous inability to get over the hump on the grassy surfaces of the All England Club, falling in each of his three finals appearances to rival star Roger Federer in 2004, 2005, and 2009.
Combined with his 2006 US Open Final loss to Federer, Roddick, who retired in 2012, ranks within the top 25 all-time for the most losses in a Major final with four.
Roddick and Betway a dynamic tandem
The tease is perhaps no surprise coming from Betway, given the relationship between the sportsbook and Roddick.
Roddick has served as a Betway spokesperson since August 2023, ahead of that year’s U.S. Open. According to Betway's website, Roddick currently writes “regular columns for the Betway Insider, featuring his thoughts and opinions on all the biggest tennis tournaments.”
