Bob Menendez (D-NJ) wants more sanctions, including ¡°sanctioning the Russian Central Bank, removing Russian banks from the SWIFT payment system, crippling Russia¡¯s key industries, sanctioning Putin personally, and taking all steps to deprive Putin and his inner circle of their assets.¡±
BTW..SWIFT HQ is in Belgium & the US cannot unilaterally cut Russia off.
How about revoking all Russian visas?
Having sanctioned Russian billionaire & not Putin personally has to have them thinking WTF? Interesting approach.
Still waiting for some GOP ideas.

@Jarrett75 Careful with your personal insults, not much more will be allowed and that is why I moved that thread is because some of you are unable to keep replies from being personal attacks. You know why the US was able to be "energy independent" right? Or is it just the usual USA USA USA brain dead reply? The marginal supply providers are able to get dirt cheap funding because the FED has kept rates down here for so long and that means the big players can gamble (like Conoco and Exxon) and the fringe players were gambling heavily, and when you stop caring about that toxic byproduct entering the water table with Trump in office then frackers did whatever they wanted and nobody stopped them. And yes it was due to Trump being in office, Repubs are not overly concerned with the environmental impacts of injecting natural gas fluid into rock layers and where that mixture ends up after the heavy mixture is extracted. When oil is over 60 frackers can make ends meet and that is why production went up. Forward to the drop in oil and MANY big frackers and most small players got crushed and stopped production, big players like Exxon and Conoco pulled back because the numbers no longer worked with oil being down below say 40. Then fast forward to the economy resuming and production being reduced and frackers being skiddish if not gone and you get a reactionary move in oil. So how is this shocking that we cannot be energy independent when you factor in being concerned about the environmental impact AND oil supply dropped when the marginal players were out of the market? Nah its Biden vs Trump always when in reality its 100% a reactionary move when oil got hit, frackers got smashed and now rates should go up and that will also impact the cost of capital and reduce the marginal higher risk projects.
1. The personal attacks need to be stopped, you think just because Fubar, KellyM and Midnight aren't saying our names they aren't intending to insult people who support Trump by calling us names. It's just subtle, but still done. They also spam this forum with crap and there is no discussion, which is why I call them misinformation bots. And yes all they do is reply to each other bumping their threads with congratulatory jerking each other off version of here here. It doesn't add anything and has ruined the political forum.
2. As far the drilling/fracking in the U.S. and the environmentalist stance, if we drill in Alaska or off another coast of the U.S. to get oil or it's drilled in Ukraine or Russia, does it really hurt the planet less because it's done outside the U.S.? Why aren't the environmentalist over in Saudia Arabia, Russia or any other country they are drilling. Is it not hurting the planet but when it's done on our coast?

GOP OH Senate candidate JD Vance: ¡°I think it¡¯s ridiculous that we are focused on this border in Ukraine. I got to be honest with you, I don¡¯t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or the other.¡± 2/19/22
Now, he's issued a long statement about how much he cares and how it's all the fault of the elites.
This chameleon is being banked by billionaire donor Peter Thiel.
Ohioan hillbillies must be real fond of their native son.

Here¡¯s his ¡°long¡± statement. Please put your two brain cells together and explain what you have a problem with.
¡ª
Our leaders should be honest with the American people and admit what they really want: military intervention from American or NATO troops. This would be a disaster, and we must stand against it under any circumstance.

Midnight attacked Vance without any real understanding of what he said. One of his liberal sources attacked him so he thought he would be clever and copy and paste the attack into this thread to seem intelligent.
Let’s see if he can dissect Vance’s “long” statement and explain what he has a problem with and why.
This is where Democrats crumble because they have no real understating of what they’re talking about. (watch)

Vance is a loser, Mandel is a loser, and all the other R's running are losers, unfortunately Ohio will be stuck with one of them

Those guys are not actively going around as you do looking to attack, they have their threads and usually keep to those but you are blatant and over the top with the insults, so please refrain and if you do not like what they say then dont reply and dont give them the chance to make you mad.
The far locations you reference are not cost effective at all, the reason for the supply surge and the awesome but faux image of being self sufficient was due to the fracking increase not the fringe mega cap Alaska ventures that firms like Exxon would need to bring their infrastructure to make happen. Oil being high and rates being low is why our supply went up, and yes there is an environmental cost especially to fracking, its an awful way to get sour crappy crude out of the ground and it is irrefutable that the process causes horrid impacts to the water table, you cannot even try to deny that.

Just saw this comment from former congressman Joe Walsh & hope he's right..
"Putin made a big mistake. The world has changed. This isn¡¯t 1987. Tanks rolling into a sovereign nation won¡¯t be tolerated. The alliance of freedom-loving nations will defend Ukraine & punish the hell out of Russia."
Any thoughts about this comment?
