@Raiders22 I'd like to chat but not particularly with you. However to answer your question, I asked about liberals in this FORUM not elsewhere.
Listen, I've told this guy at least twice that I don't want to interact with him but he continues to pester me..
Another thing, I'm one of the few on the left willing to interact in here with those on the right.
kc..I'll get back with ya. Too tired after cappin for tomorrow.

That's quite a contradiction, MIDNIGHT. You've managed to pull this off in 2 sentences. So, will you or won't you reply to those on the right.
I'm guessing things went really downhill for you with your Post# 1591.. I for one would love to hear your reply...... to that follow up post # 1592. ...

@Rush51
What don't you understand?
There are 2 people in this forum that I rarely respond to, if ever. One is on the right as I've explained & the other dude is just to wierd for my taste.
No contractidiction whatsoever.
Keep it up & you'll become the 3rd.

Why does he have to reply to anyone? You are extremely antagonistic and difficult to have a debate/discussion with I can see why he might take issue with your combative affrontive attitude.
If you choose to try and bully as a narrative do not be shocked that it offends some people, you are aggressive and confrontational to me, I put up with it but it for sure is not respectful reasonable conversation. You could easily tone it down quite a bit and that would create a better environment for discussion instead of combative I am right you are wrong fighting.

kc...I promised a response.
Polling those in this forum would probably result in your 9 out of 10 prediction for stricter laws & more serving time.
In a 10/23 Gallup poll, 56% of Americans wanted stronger gun laws & I'm schocked it's that low. 31% are OK with the status quo & 12% want fewer restrictions.
The "majority", which I'm not sure who they are anymore, have favored stricter gun laws since 1990 when 78% of the country was in favor & little has been done. I believe our members in Congress have been bought by the gun lobbyists & it's like touching the 3rd rail for these cowardly scumbags.
Here's a paragragh from the report tha kind of sums it up...
Democrats overwhelmingly believe gun laws should be made stricter and believe guns make homes more dangerous. They are also much more likely than Republicans to favor a handgun ban. In contrast, Republicans generally want gun laws kept as they are now and believe guns make homes safer.
Independents side with Democrats on wanting stricter gun laws, but they are closer to Republicans in believing guns increase home safety rather than decrease it.
I don't see opinions changing in the immediate future.

it¡¯s too weird
And you can judge what you don¡¯t understand . And you can hate what you can¡¯t conquer . I guess it¡¯s just an inferior man became a monster .
I had to take the bridge to Queens on this one . And I don¡¯t need the olive branch . You can¡¯t walk this path . But keep it positive . One .

Shannon Cortez Gooden, Minnesota cop and paramedic killer;
The 38-year-old was prohibited from possessing firearms as the result of a 2008 2nd-degree felony assault with a deadly weapon conviction, according to court documents.
First District Court Judge Dannia Edwards denied the request to reinstate Gooden's gun ownership rights in October 2020, according to court records.
YOU SAID IT WAS A MYTH ON THE 16TH AND IT HAPPENED ON THE 18TH

And today two adults are also charged. I saw one adult in handcuffs in a media pic so it was puzzling when they said two juvies. Guess these two got away after the shooting?

How come we only hear about "we need more gun laws (attack on law abiding citizens who actually follow the rules)" from the left, but we never hear them say "we need longer and more enforced penalties for illegal gun possession and use"?

And the reason being? Or as Kamala would say; Root Cause?
I live in a community where the majority are repubs. Most everybody has guns. I don't worry about being shot for my Trump sneakers, Canada Goose jacket, or get carjacked even though we have many poverty level individuals. Criminals here, and there are always some, are dealt with, tried and convicted, punished for their bad behavior. If a crime is committed with a gun we don't seek out the gun store or manufacture, we deal with the criminal. We teach family values and expect everyone to raise their children properly. Take responsibility for our actions. Repeat offenders go back to incarceration and when they get out they either change their ways or seek new areas where laws are not enforced. People here turn in criminals, cooperate and respect most law enforcement. And if there is a bad cop (they are human too, always a few) we deal with it.
It seems like no matter the race, color, creed, or religion GOOD PEOPLE seek to live here. They yern for this type of life. Makes us stronger.
So it's really seems to be a choice. Understanding you cannot have one thing without the other. Responsibility for one's actions goes a long way.
Many here in my community laugh at the notion of white privilege. It's doing and teaching the right thing. Taking responsibility, taking the harder, right road.
Anybody can do it, it's a choice.
So as we look out and see liberal run schools telling children reading and writing is a "white thing", math is racist so you don't have to learn we can see they are doomed and ask; Why can't they see?

Worldwide, evidences show widespread gun control is the most cost effective way to reduce gun violence. However research shows harsher sentences do not reduce gun violence. Enhanced punishment doesn't address root causes of violence. Punishment has no influence on people not expecting to be caught or who plan to be dead. Every individual sentenced to more years cost thousands of dollars that could be better spend elsewhere.

Like releasing them and then having them destroy another life and having to catch the criminal AGAIN and AGAIN. Stupid logic thinking releasing criminals will save money. This is at the expense of their next victim. Releasing a criminal will NOT make them a better citizen.
Criminals do not care about your gun control laws. Maybe Biden isn't saying anything on the punishment because he has a special someone who would be punished for what should be done.

Maybe putting fear in criminals will. How about, anyone in possession of an illegally obtained firearm gets 20 years and NO LESS in prison. That's how you control guns.

Under this administration you are encouraged to brake laws by its action... no bail,, no arrest..vilify the police..defund the police... criminals are having a blast . They know there is a great chance of anything happening to them, if any at all.

Hate to break it to you (not BRAKE) but crime rates are dropping like flies in 2024 across America in cities both big and small but I know it does not fit this false narrative you are pushing. The defund the police nonsense is just something to complain about, actually is not happening anywhere.

@DeezyAZ81
That's because nobody is reporting crimes as much because they know the police won't respond. Crime rates might be dropping on a statistic basis (paperwork), but go out in public and talk to people. Crime is getting worse. PG&E is hiring private security to stand on the street while they work. WTF does that tell you??!! Grocery stores are having security at every door. Checking tickets before you leave. 8 years ago that shit never happened.
My city is offering huge bonuses to new hires on our police force and they still can not get people to join. That's because the country demonized police and humans do not want to get put in those uncomfortable situations on a daily basis. Just go talk to cops and ask if they think crime is getting better work worse. They'll be honest with you. Hint, it's not an answer you want to hear.
Liberal logic- stop reporting crimes, have police no show or take forever to show and crime rates go down. Just lie to the public and they'll believe you. bahhhhhabahhhhh

Liberalism is a mental disorder... crimes are being committed , arrests are not being made... between James and Bragg, criminals have a free pass..Adams is starting to realize he messed up when he did not back the men and women in blue.

Yeah okay guy. That is a pretty broad assumption you are making there bud. Where are you getting this information from? Who is telling you this? Proof of this or just your personal hope? Keep telling yourself this to support your failed narrative.

Where? This is not happening in any grocery store in my city and I go to an array of grocery stores. Have not seen or experienced this once ever. Not in last three years or ever here in Phoenix area. I thought the crime was on the rise everywhere??? Secondly, if no one is reporting crimes, there should be statistics showing a consistent, sharp increase in unreported crimes across every city in America right? Show me any documentation that shows a huge rise in unreported crimes for cities across the country. Not just one or two cities but everywhere like you are claiming. I would expect to see a 100-200% increase in unreported crimes the way you tell it.

Right, stricter penalties will do one of two things...It will either deter the person from doing the crime (most likely not with some of these perps) or it will put them away for longer periods to reduce repeat offending.....nothing wrong with harsher gun laws and it's the easiest of all to regulate....taking guns of the streets or making it harder to buy guns is not going to solve anything at this point because the system by one can obtain a gun in today's times is too easy and too wide spread...I'm not sure that can be resolved because a lot of these guns used to commit these crimes are most likely not legal or legit guns registered to those individuals....I mean, who would be stupid enough to use a gun with some of these heinous crimes being committed...consequences are way too soft on some of the crimes that are committed....it's no deterrent, but stiffer penalties would certainly do the trick...20 years even sounds soft...I'd up it a bit and make these people think whether the crime is worth it if they get caught and whether or not they want to spend a 1/3 or half their life in prison for it...it's the only mind trick that can be played with these types of criminals...if anyone is serious about it then stiffen the penalties...
Look at other countries gun laws and understand why they do not have issues with guns in their countries...not saying adopt those blindly, but look at Singapore for example: to own a gun you have to part of a gun club and your weapon has to remain on club premises...a private citizen is not allowed to own a gun at home...when you do get a gun permit to have a gun, the permit is only valid for one year...if you illegally own a gun or ammo the penalty is 5 years...if you fire a gun, while not in a gun club or on its premises, even if you do not injure someone it can be punishable by death sentence...
Look at the chart in the link and look at the countries in blue for having to have permits for both short and long guns....pretty much the US is one of a very few countries that does not require permits throughout its nation...

I'm in the Bay area and every grocery store has armed guards now. Was not like this before covid. I drive by PG&E and I see armed, private security. Never ever seen that before.
I talk with police here. They say it's getting worse. I don't need to look at manipulated stats when I can talk to people who are around it on a daily basis. I asked a cop about recalling the DA, he obviously wouldn't give me an answer because he was in uni, but it was clear he wasn't happy with the DA. My company has had dozens of work vehicles stolen, police don't do shit about it because they know nothing will happen to the person that stole it. I had a customer have their car stolen. We found it in a bad part of town 2 days later. Police showed up, saw the guy who took it and let him be. That area now has dozens of stolen vans in the same lot. Would you like me to go take photos for you?
If people are not reporting crimes, how in the hell would that be shown in statistics? Think about what you just said...Secondly, if no one is reporting crimes, there should be statistics showing a consistent, sharp increase in unreported crimes across every city in America right?
