I'm no Vegas veteran by any means, I went there once many years ago.
But posts like this seem very much to the contrary of what Vegas is all about. Why so much planning? Why the incessant need to forecast all the details?
Vegas is about worry free fun in my mind. When I plan my next trip it will be simple. I will stay at some casino/hotel that is adequate to my expectations and reasonable deal. I will fly in and catch a ride to the strip. I will check in, and then take a big breath and start my journey.
Am I the only one that thinks this way?

Good post!
Very true. I have my own style!!! Ive never gone to Vegas with friends because spending money on rooms at the Wynna nd going to the club and buying a bottle would undermine the point of going to vegas for me. Nothing like getting a nice cheap room in a casino for 30-40 bucks a night and using your money to bet with. Reno is even better for this! Vegas is a little bit of a pain in the ass to go from casino to casino and I dont ever stay on the strip really so theres no real advantage over Reno if your somewhere like the Orleans or El Co or Tuscany Suites or even the Hilton which is as much as I large it.
Freemont St hotels are easy to get to but I like downtown reno as much since you can wak from the Circus, Harrahs, Cal Neva, Eldorado easily.
Enjoy your trip Nugget is a great one. Rice bowls at the california around the corner fromm you.

The difference with nc1 and others is that nc knows how to enjoy this town for himself and understands what he would and, more importantly, would not, enjoy.
Comfort is being in control of your situation; and, while you cannot control the roll of the dice or the turn of the cards, you can control the "creature comforts" that this town can offer...and on all levels.
Planning is very important to that "control".....
SportsFan: You are not that far removed from the same philosophy as nc1 is.....really.

i'll be in vegas Oct5-7 for a Sonics convention. If you like seafood, there is nothing better then Joe's stone crabs. mmmmmm good! They are in Ceasars Forum. Just sit at the bar and enjoy the Stone Crab.
