49ers 34, Jets 0: Frank Gore rushed for a touchdown and the San Francisco defense forced four turnovers en route to a shutout of host New York.
Alex Smith completed 12 of 21 passes for 143 yards and backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick picked up his first career touchdown on a second-quarter run for the 49ers (3-1), who bounced back from their first loss last week.
Mark Sanchez completed just 13 of 29 passes for 103 yards, was intercepted once and fumbled once for the Jets (2-2). Sanchez has completed under 50 percent of his passes in three straight weeks and could be without one of his most dangerous targets in Santonio Holmes, who went down with a knee injury early in the fourth quarter.
Kaepernick scampered in for a 7-yard score in the second quarter and David Akers added a 36-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead at the break. San Francisco broke it open in the second half, scoring on three straight possessions bridging the third and fourth quarters as the defense continued to put the offense in strong field position.
Holmes suffered a non-contact injury when he made a catch and went to the ground, flinging the ball away as he grabbed at his left knee. Carlos Rogers picked up the loose ball and carried it 51 down the left sideline for a touchdown and a 24-0 lead.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The 49ers have yet to suffer back-to-back losses under head coach Jim Harbaugh. กญ Jets CB Kyle Wilson replaced Darrelle Revis in the lineup and made five tackles. He was beaten over the top on a handful of throws but Smith failed to connect on any of those chances downfield. กญ San Francisco piled up 245 rushing yards while New York was held to 45. The 49ers recorded 26 first downs to the Jets 9.
