Louisiana 16, Nevada 3: Terrance Broadway went 26-of-31 for 227 yards and the gameกฏs only
touchdown as the Raginกฏ Cajuns downed the Wolf Pack to win their fourth
straight R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
Elijah McGuire rushed for 99 yards and added five catches for 54 yards for Louisiana (9-4), which became the first school ever to win the same bowl game four straight years. Alonzo Harris contributed 70 rushing yards and C.J. Bates hauled in his only reception for a score.
Cody Fajardo finished 14-of-29 for 124 yards and ran for 51 more for Nevada (7-6), which managed a season-low 216 total yards จC 200 below its season average จC and posted the lowest point total in a bowl game since Alabama blanked LSU 21-0 in the 2011 BCS title game. Richy Turner contributed five catches for 46 yards.
Broadway covered Louisiana 77 yards on the teamกฏs opening drive, capping it with a 17-yard strike to Bates over the middle. Nevada followed with a three-and-out and the Raginกฏ Cajuns marched 60 yards in 13 plays on the ensuing possession before settling for a 46-yard field goal from Hunter Stover to complete a march that consumed nearly seven minutes.
Brent Zuzo accounted for the only second-quarter score with a 21-yard field goal near the end of the first half as Louisiana punted three times, fumbled and turned the ball over on downs before making it 13-3 with 11:51 remaining with Stoverกฏs 30-yard field goal. The Wolf Pack gave the ball away on downs on two of their final three drives and Stover tacked on his third field goal with 4:46 to go to seal it for the Raginกฏ Cajuns.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Broadway went 15-for-17 for 123 yards in the first half, setting a Division I bowl-game record by completing his first 14 passes จC the third-longest completion streak in Division I bowl game history. กญ Fajardo finished with 173 total yards, ending his college career with 13,111 and moving him into 17th place on the NCAAกฏs all-time total yardage list. กญ Raginกฏ Cajuns senior DL Christian Ringo tied a school record with his 21st career sack on the second-to-last play of the game.
