No. 16 Louisville 36, No. 25 Miami (Fla.) 9: Teddy Bridgewater passed for a career-high 447 yards and tossed three touchdowns as the Cardinals ran away from the Hurricanes at the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
Bridgewater completed 35-of-45 passes, connecting with 10 different receivers, and added a rushing touchdown for Louisville (12-1). DeVante Parker was Bridgewaterกฏs top target, catching nine passes for a season-high 142 yards and a touchdown.
Miami (9-4) managed 174 total yards, including 14 rushing yards on 28 attempts. Hurricanes quarterback Stephen Morris threw for 160 yards but was credited for minus-59 rushing yards, with 39 of those coming on four Louisville sacks.
The Hurricanes were the first to score, taking a 2-0 lead when Bridgewater was sacked in the end zone by Deon Bush after Pat OกฏDonnellกฏs punt pinned the Cardinals at their 2-yard line. Those would be the last points until just over 10 minutes remained as John Wallace booted three straight field goals for Louisville and Bridgewater followed with back-to-back touchdown strikes of 26 yards to Parker and 12 yards to Michaelee Harris for a 22-2 lead that stood at intermission.
Bridgewater didnกฏt let up in the second half as he hooked up with Senorise Perry on a 24-yard touchdown connection in which Perry did most of the work, catching a middle screen at the 26 and weaving up the middle through defenders. The touchdown established Bridgewater as Louisville's single-single touchdown leader with 31.
