South Alabama 36, Louisiana-Monroe 14: Ross Metheny accounted for 322 total yards and four touchdowns as the Jaguars downed the visiting Warhawks.
Shavarez Smith, Jereme Jones and Ryan Onkka all hauled in touchdown passes for South Alabama (4-6, 2-3 Sun Belt), which racked up 217 rushing yards. Aleem Sunanon kicked three field goals for the Jaguars, who snapped a three-game losing skid.
Kolton Browning finished 18-of-26 for 196 yards and two total touchdowns for Louisiana-Monroe (5-6, 3-3), which managed just 1.8 yards per rush. Rashon Ceaser caught nine passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in a losing cause.
Sunanon booted a pair of field goals to give South Alabama a 6-0 lead in the first quarter before Browning replied with a 6-yard touchdown run. The Jaguars reeled off 13 straight points as Smith and Jones each caught touchdown passes to give them a 19-7 edge at the break.
Browning hit Ceaser for a 44-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to five early in the third quarter before Metheny found Onkka from 2 yards out to make it 26-14. Metheny put the game away with a 63-yard run late in the fourth quarter as South Alabama cruised to its first victory over the Warhawks.
