Texas Tech 41, Kansas 34 (2OT): Running back Eric Stephens Jr. rushed for one touchdown and threw for another in overtime as the Red Raiders handed the upset-minded Jayhawks their 21st straight road loss.
After Stephens' 3-yard pass to Darrin Moore out of the Wildcat formation gave Texas Tech a 41-34 lead, the Red Raiders stopped Kansas on fourth-and-9 to end the game. Moore finished with two touchdown catches, the first of which gave Texas Tech a 21-7 lead 2:40 into the second quarter.
Seth Doege threw three touchdown passes - all in the first half - in his final home game and Eric Ward caught 12 passes for a career-high 180 yards as Texas Tech (7-3, 4-3 Big 12) defeated Kansas for the sixth straight time. Doege finished 45-for-59 for 476 yards.
James Sims rushed for 127 yards and scored three touchdowns and Tony Pierson ran for a career-high 202 yards for the Jayhawks (1-9, 0-7), who have lost 19 straight Big 12 games. Sims' second score, a 3-yarder which was set up by a 68-yard Pierson run, brought Kansas to within 27-24 with 8:59 left. Nick Prolago's 32-yard field goal with 41 seconds left in regulation tied it.
Sims caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Michael Cummings on the first possession of overtime before Stephens responded with a 1-yard run.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Sims set a school record with his sixth consecutive 100-yard game. ... Red Raiders sophomore K Ryan Bustin, who is 46-for-46 on extra point attempts this season, missed a 41-yard field goal as time expired in regulation. ... Ward became the first Texas Tech WR to record three straight 100-yard receiving games since Michael Crabtree of the San Francisco 49ers had seven in a row in 2007.
