No. 25 UCLA 17, No. 15 Arizona 7: Brett Hundley accounted for 320 total yards and threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Payton as the Bruins held off the visiting Wildcats.
Hundley was 19-of-26 for 189 yards and rushed 24 times for 131 yards to lead UCLA (7-2, 4-2 Pac-12), which won its third straight and moved into a first-place tie atop the Pac-12 South. Payton had six catches for 119 yards and Paul Perkins rushed 21 times for 78 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown.
Arizona (6-2, 3-2) was held to 255 total yards of offense after entering the game ranked 12th in the nation in scoring (40.6) and sixth in total offense (541.9 yards). Anu Solomon was 18-of-48 for 175 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats, who have lost three in a row to the Bruins.
UCLA committed three penalties on the opening drive and allowed Arizona to score on Solomonกฏs 14-yard TD pass to Cayleb Jones. One week after being called for 14 penalties in a win over Colorado, the Bruins committed 11 penalties for 118 yards against the Wildcats.
Ka'imi Fairbairnกฏs 24-yard field goal cut the deficit to 7-3 at the half before the Bruins moved ahead midway through the third quarter on Perkinsกฏ 5-yard TD run. UCLA extended the lead on its next possession as Hundley connected with Payton, who outran Arizona cornerback Cam Denson for the 70-yard score.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hundley tied Cade McNown for the school record in career touchdowns with 68 for UCLA, which secured the victory when Eric Kendricks blocked Casey Skowranกฏs 26-yard field goal attempt with just under two minutes left. กญ Arizona DB Jourdon Grandon was ejected for targeting late in the second quarter. ...
