No. 6 Oregon 45, Stanford 16: Marcus Mariota accounted for four touchdowns and Thomas Tyner rushed for two scores as the Ducks routed the visiting Cardinal.
Mariota was 19-of-30 for 258 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 85 yards and two scores as Oregon (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12) recorded 525 total yards of offense and snapped a two-game losing streak against Stanford. Darren Carrington and Charles Nelson each caught TD passes to help the Ducks move two games ahead of the Cardinal in the Pac-12 North.
Kevin Hogan completed 21-of-29 passes for 237 yards with one interception for Stanford (5-4, 3-3), whose streak of holding opponents under 30 points ended at 31 games. Patrick Skov scored on a 1-yard run just before halftime to cut Oregonกฏs lead to 24-13, but the Cardinal struggled to keep pace after the break.
Stanford controlled the clock in the third quarter and pulled within 24-16 on Jordan Williamsonกฏs 25-yard field goal with just under three minutes left, but Tyner scored on a 21-yard touchdown run to end the quarter. Tyner rushed for 63 yards and Royce Freeman had 19 carries for 98 yards for Oregon, which recorded 267 yards on the ground.
The Ducks drew clear at the start of the fourth quarter as Mariota capitalized on a Stanford turnover and scored on a 7-yard run. Mariota extended the lead on the Ducksกฏ next possession by connecting with Carrington on a 25-yard TD pass.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Mariota became Oregonกฏs all-time leader in completions with 644, passing Danny OกฏNeil. กญ Williamson kicked three field goals for Stanford, which entered the game ranked second in the country in scoring defense (12.5 points per game). กญ Oregon DE Arik Armstead left the game early in the second quarter with a left leg injury and did not return.
