Bo Nix threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Seth Williams with 1:11 remaining as Auburn rallied to defeat Mississippi 35-28 in a Southeastern Conference game on a drizzly Saturday afternoon in Oxford, Miss.
Freshman Tank Bigsby rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers (3-2 overall, 3-2 SEC) rebounded after dropping out of the Top 25 for the first time since 2018 with a 30-22 loss at South Carolina last weekend.
Ole Miss (1-4, 1-4) suffered its third consecutive defeat under new coach Lane Kiffin.
Nix, who was the SEC's Freshman of the Year last season, completed 23 of 30 passes for 238 yards. The Tigers got the ball back on their own 20-yard line with 2:25 left and Nix drove them down the field in six plays for the winning score. Nix completed a 13-yard pass to Eli Stove and a 27-yarder to Anthony Schwartz before hitting Williams down the right sideline. Nix found Williams for a 2-point conversion to cap the scoring.
The Rebels took a 28-27 lead on Jerrion Ealy's 5-yard run with 5:43 remaining.
That came after Bigsby's 18-yard touchdown run with 10:12 left that broke a 21-all tie. The Tigers' extra-point attempt failed.
Shaun Shivers added 60 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Tigers and quarterback Bo Nix ran for 52 yards and a score.
Ole Miss' Matt Corral, who threw six interceptions and lost a fumble in a 33-21 defeat at Arkansas last weekend, completed 16 of 27 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two scores. Corral threw two interceptions, the first in the end zone in the opening quarter and the second on a desperation heave on the game's final play.
Corral had a team-high 88 yards rushing, with Snoop Connor adding 75 and Ealy totaling 74.
The score was tied 14-14 at halftime and 21-all after three quarters.
