Eskimos 10, Redblacks 8: Grant Shaw kicked a 27-yard field goal with 20 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to give visiting Edmonton the victory in a game void of a touchdown.
Mike Reilly completed 26-of-35 passes for 271 yards and one interception while adding a game-high 78 rushing yards for the Eskimos (6-1), who won despite committing four turnovers and racking up 133 yards in penalties. Shaw scored every point for Edmonton, converting 3-of-4 field-goal attempts.
Henry Burris was 18-of-28 for 255 yards for Ottawa (1-6), which took the lead 3:49 into the game and held it until the final minute. Brett Maher made a pair of field goals and defensive back Antoine Pruneau had 10 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble to lead the Redblacksกฏ best defensive effort yet.
The Eskimos turned over the ball twice on red-zone opportunities, fumbling on a snap at the Ottawa 2-yard line in the third quarter and failing to convert a 1-yard rush attempt on a third-down play early in the fourth. Reilly atoned for these miscues by orchestrating a 74-yard drive that set up Shawกฏs game-winning kick.
Shaw made field goals of 39 and 28 yards earlier in the contest but missed a 50-yard attempt that would have brought Edmonton within a point at halftime. Ottawa had an opportunity to put the game out of reach when Burris connected with Matt Carter for a 36-yard pass, but Carter fumbled at the Eskimos 8-yard line - setting up Edmontonกฏs pivotal drive.
