Roughriders 31, Lions 17: Kory Sheets ran for 80 yards and two touchdowns in his return from injury to help visiting Saskatchewan snap its four-game losing streak.
Darian Durant completed 21-of-31 passes for 234 yards and found slotback Weston Dressler for a touchdown for the Roughriders (9-5), who moved into a tie with BC for second in the West Division. Dwight Anderson, Craig Butler and Carlos Thomas recorded interceptions and Jermaine McElveen had two of the teamกฏs five sacks.
Thomas DeMarco connected with slotback Nick Moore for a touchdown and finished with 286 yards on 19-for-36 passing for the Lions (9-5), who had not lost in their previous 12 regular-season home games dating back to July 20, 2012. Slotback Shawn Gore recorded a 1-yard touchdown run following a pass interference penalty.
Saskatchewan erupted for 16 points in the second quarter against the usually staunch Lions defense, as Durant hit Dressler for a 6-yard TD 3:42 into the period. Andersonกฏs interception led to the first touchdown by Sheets 7 1/2 minutes later, and Durant passed to Dressler for a two-point conversion to widen the lead.
Sheets scored his second touchdown on a 6-yard run 4:28 into the third, just 2 1/2 minutes after Gore gave BC some life. DeMarco made a 15-yard scoring toss to Moore with 2:13 remaining in the fourth, but it was too little, too late.
