Roughriders 35, Stampeders 13: Darian Durant threw three touchdowns and Kory Sheets had 177 yards and a score on 28 carries as visiting Saskatchewan capitalized on six Calgary turnovers to advance to the Grey Cup.
Durant finished 24-for-30 passing for 280 yards, completing touchdowns to Weston Dressler, Chris Getzlaf and Rob Bagg for the Roughriders (13-7), who have a chance to be the third consecutive team to win the Grey Cup at home. Jermaine McElveen and Terrell Maze made interceptions, while Maze also recovered a fumble.
Drew Tate started the second half after Kevin Glenn completed 7-of-13 passes for 185 yards with two interceptions for the Stampeders (14-5), who were unable to overcome injuries to their receiving corps and defensive line and struggled in well-below zero temperatures. Tate was 5-for-11 passing for 90 yards and one touchdown.
Saskatchewan scored 15 points in the second quarter, including a 37-yard touchdown pass from Durant to Dressler two plays after Stampeders wide receiver Maurice Price fumbled on a 57-yard completion. Calgary receivers lost three fumbles - two in the second quarter - and kick returner Larry Taylor fumbled on a punt return with 4:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Tateกฏs time under centre got off to a rough start when Brad Sinopoli fumbled a 28-yard completion, but he recovered on the next drive to throw a 46-yard touchdown toss to Joe West and give Calgary hope. That lasted until the fourth quarter, when a pair of field goals by Chris Milo and a touchdown by Sheets put the game away.
