Roughriders 30, Eskimos 27: Running back Kory Sheets reached 1,000 rushing yards faster than any player in CFL history with 139 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead Saskatchewan to its second win in Edmonton.
Quarterback Darian Durant was 24-for-30 for 334 yards for Saskatchewan (7-1), which defeated the Eskimos 39-18 at Edmonton in Week 1. Linebacker Tyron Brackenridge and defensive back Dwight Anderson had interceptions, while defensive tackles Jermaine McElveen and Keith Shologan and defensive back Weldon Brown added sacks.
Quarterback Mike Reilly completed 19-of-29 passes for 303 yards - including 141 in the third quarter - and three touchdowns, as well as 76 rushing yards for the Eskimos (1-7), who lost their sixth in a row and fell to 0-4 at home. Slotback Fred Stamps caught two touchdowns as part of an eight-reception, 111-yard game.
Kicker Chris Milo scored the first 15 points for the Roughriders, who did not reach the end zone until Sheets ran for 10 yards with 3:09 remaining in the third quarter. Reilly found slotback Cary Koch for 13 yards 2:14 later to give the Eskimos a 24-22 heading into the fourth quarter.
Sheets ran for an 18-yard score with 8:19 remaining to give Saskatchewan a two-point advantage. Anderson intercepted Reilly in the end zone 2:09 later and Reilly fumbled the ball on a sack by Brown with 1:27 left to end any chance of an Edmonton comeback.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Saskatchewan SB Geroy Simon became the first CFL player to reach 16,000 all-time receiving yards with one catch for 11 yards. กญ Edmonton has lost its last four games by a combined 12 points. กญ Milo was 5-for-5 in field goal attempts and is 21-for-21 in 2013.
