Jalen Hurts' Record Against Every NFL Team

You can add Jalen Hurts' name to the long list of Alabama quarterbacks who have entered the NFL with plenty of doubts from so-called experts.

From the get-go, Hurts was labeled a bust. He was deemed to have a "noodle arm" incapable of making some of the throws that Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes can make. He was called a running back (similar to Lamar Jackson) because of his desire to quickly get out of the pocket instead of running through his progressions. He was written off before even being given a chance.  

Fortunately for Philadelphia Eagles fans, the question of whether Hurts is a bona fide franchise quarterback has been put to rest thanks to an incredible 2022 season that saw him lead his team to the Super Bowl. 

Hurts' efforts earned him a lucrative contract extension that will keep him in Philadelphia for at least five more years.

If Hurts can continue to build his game and surpass last year's totals of 3,858 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and 605 rushing yards with 15 rushing TDs, Eagles fans will feel like they won the lottery, and the franchise's second Super Bowl may not be far off.

Let's take a closer look at Hurts' regular season and postseason record against every team in the NFL.

Hurts vs the Dallas Cowboys

To say the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys hate each other would be putting it mildly. The rivalry between these two NFC East foes go back to 1960, and it doesn't matter who is under center, the main objective for these teams (outside of winning the Super Bowl) is to beat one another as many times as humanly possible. 

Since Hurts entered the league in 2020, the Eagles have edged the Cowboys 4-3 in this series. During these meetings, we've seen the good and the bad of a young, inexperienced quarterback.

In the three losses he started, the Eagles lost by exactly 20 points in each game. 

In the first win that he started, Hurts protected the ball and threw for 155 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. 

With so much at stake in every division game, Hurts will need to be at his best against a Cowboys team that continually puts him to the test.  

Hurts vs the New York Giants

If beating the Cowboys is all that matters to the Eagles, then beating the New York Giants is the cherry on top. 

Hurts has had a tremendous time versus the Giants, going 5-2 as a starter. In those regular season wins, he's thrown for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns, while adding 153 yards and four TDs on the ground. 

Hurts took his game to the next level in the playoffs in 2023. Despite throwing for just 154 yards and two touchdowns, he did not turn the ball over and the Eagles ran away with a 38-7 win thanks to plays like these:

If you're a Giants fan, the future does not look bright with Hurts and his collection of offensive weapons firing on all cylinders. 

Hurts vs the Washington Commanders

The final piece of the NFC East puzzle is perhaps the one that Hurts relishes the most. Sure, he may be just 6-2 against Washington as a starter, but his numbers are solid.

Through eight games against the Washington Commanders, Hurts is 155 for 236 with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. He's also added 243 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

If the Commanders don't figure out how to defend Hurts and the Eagles, he will continue to put up video game-like numbers against this sad sack franchise. 

Hurts vs the Kansas City Chiefs

How could we talk about Hurts' record against every team in the NFL and not talk about Hurts vs. the Kansas City Chiefs? 

We all know how last year's Super Bowl went down. Hurts could have very well won Super Bowl MVP — despite losing — with his heroic performance of  27/38, 304 passing yards, one passing touchdown, 70 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, and one two-point conversion. 

He did it all and made it look so damn easy:

Hurts managed to get a measure of revenge in Week 11 of the 2023 season when he led the Eagles to a satisfying 21-17 victory over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Oklahoma alum ran for two touchdowns in the driving rain to secure the come-from-behind win.

Hurts vs the Pittsburgh Steelers

As if beating your in-state rival isn't enough, Hurts put on an absolute clinic in his first start vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

In that contest, Hurts threw for just 285 yards but tossed four touchdown passes, none of which were prettier than this toss to A.J. Brown:

While many Steelers fans may be content with Russell Wilson running the offense, I'm sure a few of them wish they had Hurts on their side of the Susquehanna River.
