Who will win Buccaneers vs Panthers?
While the Bucs are just 1-4 in their last five games, they got back on track with a huge 30-7 win over the New York Giants in Week 12. That was a statement win for Tampa, who still have the playoffs in sight.
They’ve won three in a row against the Panthers dating back to last season and have some momentum right now. Carolina, meanwhile, is a mess. Sure, they gave the Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money last weekend in a 30-27 loss, in which Bryce Young actually played well for once, but the Panthers’ 3-8 record speaks for itself.
I have no doubts the Buccaneers will grab a convincing win here, with Mayfield leading the way against his former team.
My best bet
Baker Mayfield Over 241.5 passing yards (-115 at BetMGM)
My analysis
Baker Mayfield has resurrected his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the last two seasons. He’s been highly efficient in 2024, completing 71.4% of his passes for 2,799 yards and 24 touchdowns against nine interceptions.
The quarterback completed 24 of 30 throws for 294 yards in Week 12, lighting up the Giants. While he’s only hit the Over in passing yards in one of the last three games, his previous two contests were against the Giants and Chiefs – two solid defenses.
It’s a different story on Sunday. The Carolina Panthers are 24th in most passing yards allowed per game and 30th in total yards allowed. They’re giving up 30.9 points per game, too. Also, Mayfield threw for 300+ yards in three consecutive outings before Week 9.
All things considered, Mayfield should dominate downfield in Week 13.

Chuba Hubbard Under 65.5 rushing yards
Mike Evans just returned to action in Week 12 after missing over a month with a hamstring injury. His first game back was impressive, reeling in five receptions for 68 yards. With Chris Godwin out for the season, Evans is going to get a huge workload moving forward as long as he stays healthy. Last Sunday was just a glimpse.
The former Texas A&M standout has only hit the Over in receiving yards in three of his eight appearances in 2024, but Godwin was also still playing at the time. Evans is Mayfield’s top target, and he also averaged 92 yards per game in two contests versus Carolina last season. Evans will make his presence felt here.
Chuba Hubbard has been one of the lone bright spots for the Panthers this season. The Canadian is averaging five yards per carry for a total of 876 yards and seven touchdowns.
While he has hit the Over in rushing yards in two of the last three games, the Buccaneers’ biggest strength defensively is against the run, ranking 10th in the NFL. I believe they will be able to contain Hubbard in this one.
