The Minnesota Timberwolves are climbing the Western Conference standings after four straight wins, and they’ll try to extend that run tonight against the slumping Golden State Warriors.
My Timberwolves vs. Warriors predictions see the visitors capping off a good road trip here to put pressure on the teams above them.

My analysis
These teams seem to be on opposite trajectories, with the angst for the Minnesota Timberwolves easing just as alarm bells are ringing for the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors have lost six of their last seven games, prompting Draymond Green’s move to the bench, and this is a nightmare matchup for an offense that’s scored 105 points or fewer in three of its past four outings.
So, at essentially even odds, I’m riding with the Timberwolves, who’ve won the past five meetings between these teams while covering the spread in four of those contests. Plus, Minnesota is 22-11 ATS in its last 33 road outings, while Golden State has dropped three of its last four games at Chase Center.
Both franchises went through some major offseason changes, but the visitors’ identity feels clearer at this stage, with Julius Randle slotting in alongside Rudy Gobert in the frontcourt and an array of ball-hawking wing defenders.
With victories over the Los Angeles Clippers (twice), Los Angeles Lakers, and these Warriors in the past 10 days, the Timberwolves have cracked the code on both ends of the floor. In contrast, Steve Kerr still seems to be searching for the right line-up combinations, and it doesn’t help that Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody are on the injury report here.
That’s enough to make Minnesota a value pick tonight. Even if Stephen Curry is cooking, I’m trusting Chris Finch’s men to get the key stops when it matters in the fourth quarter.
Timberwolves vs Warriors same-game parlay
Anthony Edwards took a liking to Golden State’s defense on Friday, with 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting, including four triples. I see that carrying over tonight.
It was a timely explosion after a slow scoring week which included just eight points against the Lakers. Mike Conley’s return as a facilitator and organizer is allowing Ant Man to get back to what he does best.
Edwards is averaging 26.4 ppg this year and he’s gone past this 24.5 number in five of his last eight contests.
Even on Golden State’s colder nights from the field, 3-point volume for Curry is something you can bank on. He’s knocked down at least four triples in five of his last eight contests, and the Warriors will be leaning on him in an even bigger way if Wiggins is ruled out.
Steph only made six of his 19 field goal attempts on Friday against this swarming Minnesota defense, but I expect him to rebound with a better night from beyond the arc here, even if his teammates have a tougher time getting clean looks.

Timberwolves vs Warriors spread and Over/Under analysis
- The odds make this matchup more or less a coin-flip, but there were some telling signs in the Timberwolves’ blowout 107-90 victory over the Warriors two nights ago, with Golden State held to just 39% shooting.
- The Under is 9-1 in the Warriors’ past 10 contests, and that’s been a winning ticket in four straight Minnesota games too.
- Golden State has only reached the 110-point mark in one of its last eight contests, and Minnesota has held four straight opponents to 92 points or fewer.
- The Timberwolves are allowing the fewest made 3-pointers per game this season, while the Warriors rank 28th in made free throws.
