Ja Morant Over 21.5 points (-125 at bet365)
My analysis
The Memphis Grizzlies are having a very respectable season, and by no surprise, Ja Morant is an integral part of their success. While the guard isn’t putting up massive numbers, he’s still averaging 21.7 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.4 rebounds. What’s most important is Ja is staying healthy and steering clear of trouble off the court.
It’s been clear for a few seasons that this Grizzlies group is special when at full strength and the sport is just simply better when Ja is on the floor. He happens to be balling out at the moment as well, cashing the Over in points in four of his last six contests.
Morant torched the Boston Celtics for 32 in a win over the defending champions on December 7 and had 31 points against the Dallas Mavericks earlier in the month. The 25-year-old also scored 25 against the Nets in November and has averaged 23.6 PPG versus the Brooklyn Nets in seven career appearances.
Plus, the Nets are 26th in defensive rating and have allowed an average of 25.7 points per night to point guards in 2024-25. All signs point to Morant showing out here on his home floor with another impressive outing.

The Nets have been without top scorer Cam Thomas, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury. He was having a career year with 24.7 PPG, meaning others on this roster have had to step it up offensively to compensate for the loss. One of those players is Cam Johnson, one of the headliners of the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade from 2023.
Mostly known as a three-point shooter, Johnson has elevated his game in Brooklyn and has seen his numbers increase a ton this season. He’s averaging a career-high 18.8 PPG on 43.4% shooting from three-point land, starting all 23 of his appearances.
Johnson was in the midst of a small cold spell but is balling as of late, registering 26 points in three games in a row. He also scored 20 against the Grizzlies last month. Just given how hot he is right now with the rock in his hands, I like the Over in points tonight.
While I expect the Grizzlies to win this matchup, the spread is too steep. The Nets have covered in four of the last five against Memphis and have actually gone 4-1 in the previous five meetings.
However, Memphis is 11-3 at the FedExForum and has a relatively healthy roster right now. The Nets don't, with Bojan Bogdanovic also out with a foot injury. Plus, their last clash ended 106-104 for the Grizz. I like the Nets to cover the +11.5 spread. They’re also 13-6-1 as an ATS underdog this season.
