One of Canada's most well-known operators is finally regulated to offer sports betting in Ontario.
Sports Interaction, after receiving an internet gaming license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario last week, was officially approved by iGaming Ontario today as a regulated operator in the province.

The Kahnawà:ke-based company joins a busy (and competitive) market that has more than 20 regulated operators since the province's April 4 launch, offering online sports betting and casino games in what is currently the second-most populous legal sports betting market in North America (behind only New York).
The news also allows Entain Plc, the U.K.-based company that acquired Sports Interaction in February, to further strengthen its position in Canada as it also owns Canadian-focused bwin and is a 50% owner of BetMGM — both of which are already regulated in the province.
Per Entain, Sports Interaction generated gross revenues last year of $76 million, a 40% increase over 2020, and is now able to participate in a market that's expected to generate roughly $75 million in provincial tax revenue alone over the next three years and has some analysts predicting the Ontario iGaming market's gross revenue could reach $1.86 billion by 2026.
That said, it's still difficult to pinpoint the exact revenues as no official figures have yet to be released — the first numbers are expected in the coming days — since Ontario gave sports betting the green light.
Sports Interaction Ontario account migration
Ontario users will need to access SIA via a new Ontario-focused URL. Those who try to access the pre-existing site will be asked to continue to the new Ontario one. At login, users will then be asked to set up an Ontario account and will then have all of their existing account funds and information migrated onto the new site.
Users who complete the migration have reported receiving a $20 site credit.
