I had a small punt last night on the Swans. The stability of their side was the reason. Melb over performed last year and under performed this year. They have no form or structure and want the season to be over.
Thoughts for Round 22 Saturday
Saints v Blues... lean to Saints. Again, with their FB out, they will struggle with the Saints talls. At MCG so it is more about the midfield. With Hannebury and Stevens, they should get lots of run. Blues already locked in their coach so Ratten would be hoping for the same. Saints have more to play for.
Lions v Cats... away game for Cats so Lions will win. Plus, the Cats finish top if they lose to the Lions then win against the Blues.
Crows v Pies... must win game for Crows if they want finals... but it is the Crows. At home, they should win but they are very unreliable this year. I don't trust them to win, only lose.
Roos v Port... with Scotty retiring and that low score last week, the Roos will put up a good fight. Port have better form but are away. I expect Port to win by 2-3 goals to keep their finals alive. Last round against the dockers at home is free money.
Dockers v Bombers... even with Sandi and Ballers last home game, I think the Bombers need this game. The last two weeks of horrible results for them have been not an issue considering they need to win the last two against the Dockers and Pies. They have rested a lot of players to get them right for finals... I think they should win their next two and get 7th. It's been raining in Perth but has stopped. The over is also a good option.
Sunday thoughts
Tigers v Eagles... it will be in the wet so the worst thing for either team is injuries. It will be a great game to watch. Tigers to win in a good game.
Giants v Dogs... I'm leaning to the dogs. They have the form in the same way they won their premiership. Giants lost Cameron, who is really important for their structure. I think they bring him back next week to take out the Coleman but drop this one.
Hawks v GC... Hawks send Roughy off with a bag of goals. The line isn't going to matter to either team so no play.
Best bets
Lions -7.5
Dockers Bombers O158.5
Doggies ML

Both of the Blues key backman are out. Levi and Plow are ok but they have no backup.
A little more rain in Perth but it¡¯s only light. All the websites say no rain but it is. Should clear up before the Freo game starts and have little impact.

The good ones look like Doggies and Port... but depends on this week's results.
I expect the Bombers Freo game to be a high scorer... but then Freo aren't really going to care playing their last game away.
If the Doggies win this week, then they win well next week against the Crows.
North and Sydney should also be good options.
Bombers next week could be an option but the Pies played well. They will want to win to lock in finals. Woosha needs some support and should have rested players enough to have a full squad. It might be a preview of the firs week of the finals.

yes totally agree, will only start to properly play with the raw likes once this weeks results all in and i can see the form and the needs of the match ups
how it work ? top 8 into play offs, all 8 then play in roudn 1 of play offs with top 4 at home ?, do the top2 get home benefit through to semis ?

i wasn't expecting the Crows to lose. Now Port don't need to win. The doggies are now a better bet for tomorrow. They can make finals. Bombers over 73.5 BIG
70 points to 3Qtr and took 12 minutes to get the 4 points. 8 minutes early and they then got some momentum.
Gonna take a small one on OvalBall's England +3.5

sorry about england +3.5, but for the yellow that would have won, my mistake i didnt relaise wales could get to ranking no1 if they won after nz won by 36-0, havign said that, i watched the game which i enjoyed as i rarely watch rugby these days. england really battered wales physically, wales looked like they had to really dig deep to contain england, they will be real sore for a few days, eddie jones has sprinkled somethign very special over that england squad this summer, he knows japan weather and culture and its going to add a real edge for england in the rwc.
