The Associated Press has called Democrat Derek Tran defeating the incumbent Michelle Steel (R) in U.S. House CA 45 race.

Also, New York Times has the similar report on this race:

And Democrat Adam Gray has expanded his lead to 190 ballots over his incumbent opponent John Duarte (R) from last night.

Under new 2025 U.S. House makeup, Republicans maintain the same slim House majority. With the same slim five seats GOP House majority, it will be  much tougher for the upcoming Trump administration to pass far-right "mandate" or agenda if GOP were to have 15 or 20 seats majority.

First Vietnamese American from this district gets elected to the U.S. House to be sure. But there were some Vietnamese American elected and served in the House before Tran, such as Rep. Cao and Murphy. Famous Little Saigon is in Tran's CA-45 District. 

In CA-45 District, Democrat Adam Gray's lead over John Duarte (R) has increased from 190 to 227 votes, i.e. 105,083 votes vs 104,856 votes.

How essentially if Gray flips this GOP incumbent seat?   

Attempting to push through heavily conservative legislation when more centrist Republicans can potentially pump the brakes on certain bills will make every vote matter.

So, a Gray or Duarte victory could have a considerable impact on Washington over the next two years.--Business Insider

Not yet, Adam Gray's lead has been cut to 143 votes. However, nearly all of the estimated vote total has been reported, according to the New York Times. I thought this race will be coming down as a nail-biter, it surely looks like that. 

Results from CA-13 will be certified by December 13, 2024.

That would settle as 220 GOP-215 Dems in the 2025 U.S. House makeup. However, due to Gaetz and two other GOP appointments from by Trump to his cabinet. Republican party only has two Congress seats majority for few months in the early 2025.       

It would be interesting to know what criteria these 70+ liberal historians used to make their judgement..

Update: The Associated Press has just called Adam Gray (D) the winner of House CA-13 race.

I think it's great to employ convicted felons, former addicts. alcoholics, sexual deviants & thieves.

Several republican senators express growing concerns over Pete Hegseth misconduct allegations

ABC NEWS -

Hegseth, holding hands with his wife as he walked the halls,
continued to ignore questions about the New Yorker report
that he was forced to step down from two veteran nonprofit
groups -- Veterans for Freedom and Concerned Veterans
for America -- amid accusations of financial mismanagement,
sexist behavior and other disqualifying behavior.

     The magazine cited what it called a detailed seven-page
whistleblower report -- compiled by MULTIPLE former C.V.A.
employees -- stating that, at one point, Hegseth had to be
physically restrained while drunk from joining the dancers
on the stage of a Louisiana strip club, where HE had brought
his team.

The internal report also says that Hegseth, who was married
at the time, and other members of HIS management team
sexually pursued  the organization¡¯s female staffers! 

I think we will all agree that there is fat in our governments & we want cuts made,

However, do we want someone getting tons of government money making the decisions as to what gets cut & what doesn't?
