BLM was holding a peaceful march in Kenosha and a teenage Rittenhouse crossed state lines with an assault rifle and killed people.
Do you really think if it had been an all-white march that Rittenhouse would have been there?
nope not a chance strains credulity to think so
definitely racially motivated to being there in the first place regardless who he subsequently shoots

To be fair, all the BLM marches/demonstrations I have ever been to were all pretty white. And that goes all the way back to Oscar Grant before "BLM" was even a thing.

at the ones u went to possibly though always a massive percentage of visible minorities at BLM and similar protest marches or street rallies thats the very nature of the protest kenosha was no exception majority minorities and those whites who support minorities
no way that teenager would travel all that way to confront an all white march with his ar-15
not a chance

How many BLM protests have you been too? I'm sure it differs from region to region but I can speak from personal experience in places all up and down the West Coast from Seattle to LA but especially in Portland and Oakland/SF. And those protests are predominantly white. I'm sure in a place like St. Louis or Baltimore it's the opposite. In a place like Kenosha, who knows. What was the race of those shit?

Shot. What was the race of those shit? I looked it up. All white dudes. What I'm getting at is even if one suspends any notion of self defense, and says that Rittenhouse's very presence there served to instigate and escalate the situation, even if we accept that he went out looking for trouble, I still don't think you could say he went out to target a race. Maybe an ideology. He didn't shoot any black people. He has ample opportunity. Or did he? Again, BLM protests are often white AF.

ya good points
mind u there is reason why your experience may have been and will continue to b more white supporters of blm than blacks
those states r blue (liberals) and heavily liberal in the urban where such protests and marches typically take place . few if any blm protests held in rural area . whites still hold a sizable numerical population over blacks in this country including the west coast and so up and down the west coastwhite liberals who believe in and embrace minorities inclusion and willing to take a stance in support will typically outnumber the much smaller percentage of the population who are black . those heavily liberal urban areas believe in inclusivity
wisconsin is a swing state with repo govt not at all "heavily liberal" like the west coast urban areas . and that is why the percentage of those marching in urban protests would logically tend to have far fewer white liberals percentagewize than on the west coast marches meaning both viewpoints or experiences can each be true so its based largely on the general and pervasive ideologies to each specific region which u suggested and i agree

Also, I don't think all Trump supporters are white supremacists. One of my closest friends is a very conservative republican that voted for Trump and doesn't have a prejudice bone in his body. Obviously we've gone around and around with our political views, but like I've told him, "I know you're not one of these far right wing GQP nut jobs, but like it or not, if you keep electing politicians that promote this hate, you're now part of the same club."
I'm gonna have to agree with lancer on this 1,Rittenhouse was definitely acting in self defense when he shot at those 2 people(him having that kind of firearm and whether that is right, and the reason he was there in the 1st place has nothing to do if it was self defense). That whole march was not peaceful, the BLM part of the march might have been, but other people were trying to tear the city down.He did cross state lines, but Antioch and Kenosha are basically the next town over from each other, one of the people who got shot traveled alot further then Rittenhouse did,to get there and do what they were doing. Not all trump supporters are white supremacists or racist. But if you have any people you know that are WS or racist,it never fails, you know who they are voting for.

This is fundamentally logical.
Good discussion

@DeezyAZ81 Yeah, I forget El Paso. Damn. The Garlic Festival too. That one was close to home though at that point I was at my now home in Oregon. I'm from Northern California though and have been to that Festival many times.
Yeah I forgot about the Garlic Festival one too. That's the problem, there are so many of these violent, racially driven mass shootings, that we start forgetting how many occur.

The opposition to BLM created a false narrative that BLM was intended to mean, only black lives matter. This led to counter protests, violence and Rittenhouse driving across state lines with his weapon. He may have unwittingly supported the movement that is in fact rooted in white supremacy. But I think the biggest problem here is teenagers traveling hundreds of miles with assault rifles to places they don't belong for causes they don't understand. And now they are all copying off each other. First Dylan Roof, then KR, and now the latest terrorist teen. Lots of "monkey see, monkey do" to come, I'm afraid. As for Kyle Rittenhouse, my bet is in his future he is going to find that everyone is not your racist uncle judge, and run into some issues that he can't get out of.

¡°Words can be dangerous. Gov. Wallace never pulled a trigger. He never fired a gun. But in his speech, he created the environment for others to pull the trigger.¡± ¡ªJohn Lewis
I met John Lewis on the campus of Michigan State one summer & this may seem crazy but I could feel his greatness. When we spoke, he looked me right in the eyes, shook my hand with strength & his laugh was infectious.
He was a great man and we need more like him in society. His statement above is prophetic & alarming. It seems like not much has changed since Wallace.
With all of our greatness & power, I'm very sad about our country right now.

Buffalo shooter isn't a lone wolf. His manifesto embraces far right extremism of current republican leaders. That is, fascism and white supremacy. They fear the white population is threatened by immigration and growth of minorities community. White men are radicalized to believe they are victims and must use violence to save themselves from invaders. But demographic change is nothing to fear. Historically, every racial group has made significant contributions to make US richer and better. So something needs to be done to prevent more domestic terrorism.

I am kidding. Was just the way you worded it. I am sure he was a very charismatic man. Cannot get away from him taking a baton to the head for what he believed in.

In that case, I envy you, my friend. That man led a peaceful demonstration in 1965 across the infamous Edmund Pettus Bridge, where he and many others were severely beaten by white officers. Unfortunately, he is gone now.
Instead, we have Tucker Carlson of FOX News.......inflaming HATE.

comments deleted but just for the record, I despise the fab five because they wish to further divide the nation with their identity politics...just as filled with hatred as this shooter.

Two more shootings today...a Flea Market in Houston and a church in Laguna Woods, CA.
You fail to mention that the shooter in the Laguna Woods episode was Asian...is that important? It sure as hell is here on covers...the fab five is only keeping track of the white shooters though.
How about the racial identity of the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack that killed 6 and injured 62?

And now they are all copying off each other. First Dylan Roof, then KR, and now the latest terrorist teen. Lots of "monkey see, monkey do" to come, I'm afraid.
Excellent points!

When we spoke, he looked me right in the eyes, shook my hand with strength & his laugh was infectious. He was a great man and we need more like him in society. I'm very sad about our country right now.
In that case, I envy you, my friend. That man led a peacefuldemonstration in 1965 across the infamous Edmund Pettus Bridge, where he and many others were severely beaten by white officers.Unfortunately, he is gone now. Instead, we have Tucker Carlson of FOX News.......inflaming HATE.
i agree 100% with both of u on those pts but esp with that last line

With the shooter being a white supremacist, why didn't the appropriate agencies have him on their radar based on all their social media spyware and hate crime associated algorithms to prevent this type of domestic terrorism?
Aren't billions of dollars being spent to prevent such crimes? Or has everything related to spying on their own citizens in USA been put on hold since they killed Bin Laden?
Why not put a stop to all this senseless violence and halt any further production of ammunition...let all these radicals buy every gun on the planet,,,without bullets they are no better than a baseball bat.
That would stop these mass shootings...bring back one on one combat,,,if these cowards have the balls to act on their white supremacist urges, let's start a new branch of a UFC like association and set up some legit fights with betting props...I'm sure we'd have no problem finding fighters to line up and have their shot to punk any one of these weak ass white boys who pretend to be all tough and badass
