Not sure if you're still watching but Mr A6 just caught a speeding ticket.... He 3 barreled daniel with 9 high.... Was sure daniel would say "he's stealing"and fold as usual but he called at last second with A2 with very scary board.....
The fin (Sami Kelopuro) I was bitching about earlier has impressed me the most... He's up over 600k now and should go deep... Guy plays very solid.... Emotionless, deliberate, mixes it up well and is very aggressive only in position....
BTW, this new live tv idea is very revealing and can hurt alot of these unknown players....
Example : Sami bet every street with set of 4s vs Daniel.... Daniel almost called river bet with 45 and was sure Sami was stealing....
Antonio says just after hand that daniel is relieved to see Sami flopped a set after checking his phone....
WTF is that???? Terrible for the game to be revealing players uncalled hands during tourney.... It's free info and helps players adjust to his/her style, betting patterns etc....
Not good, period.....
Anyway tx for link, enjoyed it.....

I didn't see too much tonight, onarush, but I did see the hand where Daniel called down the guys three barrel bluff. I was thinking, he must not watch Daniel play much, because he's kind of a calling station.
It was interesting listening to Daniel afterwards, talking about the 30 minute delay, and having people at home watching and reporting back to him.
I'm not certain, but I think the Finland guy plays in some of the biggest cash games online. So he must know what he's doing.
You're probably right about it not being good for the game, but it's great for us watching at home. I'm enjoying it.

This is by far the best poker programming I have ever seen and the OP called it with the thread title. I have watched virtually every poker show from the 2003 Main Event, Bravo's celebrity poker, The Big Game, PAD, HSP and even the terrible Hip-Hop Poker that aired for a few weeks in '05.
Watching any other poker programming was simply viewing an edited show with significant all-ins, bluffs, and big pots with commentary that was scripted weeks afterward.
This is LIVE POKER with on the spot commentary, showing every hand and the cards after the hand is played, making you guess along with the players creating a vicarious participation for even the smallest of pots.
When one table goes sour, ESPN wisely has a second to insert.
ESPN, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Enjoy this guys. I don't think they will get the ratings necessary to do it again.
But you ABSOLUTELY can get an understanding of how to navigate a tournament that lasts several days by watching these shows (big stack aggression or short stack patience or picking spots w/ a medium stack). For that alone, this programming is immensely more valuable than anything that has ever aired.

Bling, Scalabrine... I really didn't know what to expect from this, but I completely agree with you guys, I think this is fantastic poker. Much better than an edited version of watching 'races' all night long. I love the fact the announcers don't know what they have, and we get to listen to Antonio attempt to break down what he thinks is going on.
I felt bad for Vanessa Rousso, she really ran into some tough hands. She could've easily been an overwhelming chip leader.
I think the one thing I would like to see, is them at least attempt to have a "pro" on one of the two tables. I think that would be cool, just so we would have some kind of rooting interest. I'm not sure how realistic it is they could do that, but it would be nice. I'd love to see Daniel, Lindgren, or Cunningham in one of those seats.

Antonio isn't the #1 guy I would put in this spot but he's good enough. Lon is making mistakes announcing but that's the beauty of it; he's learning as well! And one thing is obvious: who needs Norman Chad? The one and only guy I need for comic relief commentating is Gabe Kaplan who is a comic genius and probably could make yacht racing funny.
Daniel was at one of the two featured tables on 7/14 btw. The floor even told him to shut the hell up because he was talking too much during a hand!
I do have a suggestion. I think you should DVR these shows and then watch these episodes with the 30 second skip button where necessary. Some of these guys are tanking for upwards of 4 minutes and ESPN is forced to show it because it's live. Also, you get to fast-forward the breaks but even then, there's some good insight from Antonio.
Another thought:
Isn't it nice to see players JUST PLAY POKER, instead of engaging in all the chit-chat, banter, theatrics, histrionics that we've come to see from players who have the camera on them and most of which that has little to nothing to do with poker (i.e. The Mouth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Hg9qzquUvo, Scotty Nguyen Drunk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IjdQnWmUAo Hevad Kahn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv5IsQeN86Q&feature=related)

Didn't they make a "Hevad Kahn rule", where the players couldn't get so loud and boisterous? I actually don't mind the theatrics, but if I was a player at the table, I certainly might.
I'm enjoying this table they are currently showing, it's nice having Daniel and Jean-Robert there. At least it's someone we recognize.
I didn't mind Antonio commentating, but apparently Phil Hellmuth is going to be in the booth for the night action. That should be entertaining.
Oh, wow, right as I'm typing this Allen Cunningham is coming to the table. This is a pretty epic table.

Cunningham just joined.... Very underrated consumate professional.... This is his 4th ME cash in 6 years that avg over 7k entries per year.... I see more value in that accomplishment vs the 20-30 man field bracelet winners in 70s....
BTW, Busquet was asked about players hands at feature table being revealed after 30 min....
"players can't be happy with this at all but I see it as part of the evolution of poker"
"remember how upset the players were when the pocket cams were originally introduced"
I knew Bellande would get paid off on that 10 4 hand when the guy tanked, then hero called with mid pair.....
Seemed like the total setup after Bellande advertised his KJ 3 bet then call off another 150k vs KK....

I'm sick of these pros complaining about being on live TV. It is because of the TV popularity that you are able to be pros and make a lot of money, both in and outside of Poker. Being on live TV can only increase tour popularity and earning potential. cry me a river

Watching on espn3 tonight. The thing I really like this year is the lack of the 500 fucking patches all these people were wearing the past couple years. Glad to see that shit gone, it got really ridiculous at last years final table. Liking they managed to get a cute girl at the feature table as well.
