All off season I have been super high on the rams. I thought they played Seattle super tough in week 17 and much closer than the final score would lead you to believe. The rams offensive line and no Gurley ultimately made it a no play for me. But between the Rams defensive front 7 and Chancellor being out and getting 4 at home in a division game.... I was so close to picking STL, hopefully I'm not regretting it later.

GL this season. I have to say I really don't like your picks, but what do I know....

I'm in with another person on one and 3 people in the other. Needless to say the 4 way entry has already caused much debate and drama. Almost regret not going solo again this year. We'll see how it goes. 3 of my plays got in (jags/Rams/bears). Ravens and Chargers were other 2. Good luck to you vanzack. Like your plays as well..

I suspect it's because of past history. It's usually tough to win at Mile High Stadium. In another forum someone posted that Denver was 23-1 against the spread in their last 24 games. I immediately scrunched my eyebrows when I read that because didn't think that was true at all, and so I took a moment to research it. Sure enough, I found a few games Denver lost against the spread at home. Still, despite my findings, it did appear they had an impressive record against the spread at home.

Any advice for the two entries? You think totally different games?

I just couldn;t come up with a way to do it so I winged it this week.

Consider the extreme scenario where one has the exact same entries on both cards. Well, if that were the case, then what's the point of having two entrants at all? When you consider that, it indicates that possibly the other extreme, all different picks on both cards, might be the better way to go.

What's the goal when you have two entrants? Most likely it would be to maximize the chances that at least ONE card does well, not both cards. If you wanted to maximize the chances that BOTH cards did well, then yes, select the same exact picks on each card. Two to the 5th power equals 32... 31 to 1 against a perfect sweep... for both cards.

But we don't care about BOTH cards, right? We want to increase that odds that at least one of them, not both, does well. And with different picks on the two cards you now have TWO chances each at 31 to 1 against.

There's more to it than this, of course. Lots of NFL games are just too hard to pick at all. And your skills as a handicapper and how your "best picks" or "3 star picks" have done in the past also needs to be considered.

It's an interesting logic / probability / mathematical problem.
