They have so many similarities.

New team coming off a 2 win or slightly more record last year.

Leading a Rookie QB to the playoffs.

Beat almost all the teams they should have. And played highly competitive games against the best.

Its a toss up between these two.

When you say that.Its unreasonable any QB could done what Brady did . I'm from Boston so was able to see every game and snap he made . Patriots offense was a ball control horizontal short passing game Brady threw the ball 0 -10' yards throws any high school QB can make there waa nothing ever special about him. 

The Boston media who eventually made him the Goat laughed at his arm strength. 

He just a lucky bastard he didn't even out play Jake Delhomme he almost blew that SB against crappy Carolina threw a INT in 4 th quarter blew the spread and almost the game they won by 3 

The NFL media likes to count these SBs that Brady won and make it something great because its their business to sell this Shi t but winning these 1 game championships don't define greatness especially when you suck like he did in these postseason games the Patriots won.

Brady's the biggest fraud on planet earth the fact that their paying him 50 Million to show his goofy face is silly people will watch these games with or without him .

Steelers fans would want to rid of Tomlin just so he goes on to win hardware somewhere else just so they can complain ¡°why didn't that happen with us?¡± rather than think it was probably just an overdue matter of time. Franchises in any sport even with long histories of winning can fall into being very mediocre (delusional if that's what they say they are now) pretty easily if they make changes for the sake of change. Careful what you wish for. The Cleveland fan in me hopes you rid of him cause chances are good all his future replacements will not have near the same consistent success.

  It depended on who he had at WR, etc.  

At 42 he was still able to throw a football at 61MPH -- for example, Mahomes was clocked at 62MPh at a much younger age.  Both played baseball and Brady was drafted as a catcher, not exactly a position where you can have a weak arm.

2007 he had a 8.3 Y/A

2016 was 2nd in league with a 8.2 Y/A

Even as late as 2020 was 8th with 7.6 Y/A and was 4th in the league with an average throw depth of 9.0.

So, if you saw him throw when he had receivers that could stretch the field -- like Moss or Evans or Brown or even Gronk at times -- Then you know he could get the ball down the field if he needed to.  

You could even have seen him in pregame airing it out.  He certainty would do it many times when he knew he had a free down.

If you got a chance to see him throw in person you could see it.  Even when bleacher report ranked the arm strength back in 2011 or so they had him 6th.

No sir, he was not ever laughed at because of his arm strength. He had plenty of arm strength.  

The problem with folks that say this sort of thing is just that they look for anything to detract from him.  The same with the folks that say he was a system guy.  Well if that is the case -- why did everyone not run the system.  Why did the next man up not be able to run a 'ball control horizontal short passing game".

The answer is Brady did it because most of the time he had small possession guys and not the deep threats.

Bottomline he could -- and did -- win with either method.  Another testament to his greatness.

Here¡¯s a question for you guys-

where do the odds go if the Vikings lose out? It could happen. If they slip up against Seattle, this is a very realistic possibility. A finishing stretch like that knocks KOC out of the conversation if you ask me. 

Here¡¯s a wild prediction for ya-

Steelers lose out, Tomlin is completely out of the conversation.

Vikings, same. KOC out.

Detroit takes division, Campbell shoots to the top as the favorite.

Buffalo wins out and McDermott HAS to be one of the shortest shots on the board. (My pick to win it)

From there I go to Sirianni who I can¡¯t stand. I don¡¯t think the voters would do it but, He has to be up there if they get to 15 wins.

Todd Bowles, who I don¡¯t believe is a good coach, but should seriously be considered with the overall play of his team/result of the season if they take the division.

And finally Matt Lafleur who deserves to be in the same conversation with the top two as it appears that the Packers are playing their best ball of the year when it counts the most. 

Andy is out with too many lucky wins. Not to mention he¡¯s coming off b2b Super Bowls. His division championship and high win total isn¡¯t seen as a major accomplishment, but rather the threshold for his team.

Thats my take!

Anyone that has a vote for coach of the year that's considering O'Connell should be made to watch the Jet Vikings game in London O'Connell made a blowout a possible loss if you watch this game you'll understand how stupid he is.

O'Connell has so many one score wins on his resume cause he makes games that should be easy wins all one score games he's Retarded as an in game coach.

Ill be betting against this team in post season .

I respect your opinion on this and like discussions like this. 

So, I am not simply disagreeing with you just to disagree.

But I question this a bit because I have not heard that much bad, or seen, about his in-game decisions.  Of course when you lose, folks will nit-pick.

I am not sure about this.

MN has won 7   1-score games.

SF, GB, IND all scored in the last minute just to make it a 1-score game.

AZ game they came from behind to win.

NYJ was never more than a 1-score game late.  But maybe can argue it should have been.  But even an old Rodgers is still effective in a 2nd half.

JAX was just an ugly game and was never more than a 1-score game and they came from behind in 2nd half to win.

Maybe the CH could have been more than 1-score game.  But is still a rivalry and CH was looking like they were going to be decent at the time.

So, essentially 3 back door covers to a 1-score game in trash time.

1 game that was never more than 1-score game and was ugly football.

1 come from behind win to make it a 1-score game.

So, really only CH game that can be seen as a game where they should have held a 2-score lead.  

So, I am not so sure he is not doing better in these situations than others.  I am not sure that he deserves ‘blame’ for game-time decisions more than any others.

A lot of coaches make bad in-game decisions.  Usually they are amplified if they lose the game.  But when they simply give up trash-time covers but easily win — I am not sure that is fair to blame them.

For example, KC about to set the record for 1-score wins in a season.  But he is given a pass and, even credit for it.  And he should.

But O’Connell is getting the blame for winning close games.

In the NFL, it is amazing how close the games have gotten over the years.  Much more often now the games come down to a 1-score game and even a last-possession game.

I think most coaches should be given the benefit of the doubt when they win these games.  I think a great case can be made for him to win this award.
