the key to this matchup.......still comes down to who scores in the paint......after looking at tapes of all the playoff games....boston kept out most in there series's while the lakers were masterful in there's,,,teh key is gasol if he can handle the celts inside pounding of him...the last time they met they punished him........i think now he is a differnt player.....and i think the the lajkers are more focused this timenot just being happy to be there with out shag like last time......the lakers are noew a veteran club with artest and fisher.....and odom........kobe is the best cluthch player in the game period...look for the lasers to cover game one since jackson is 47 -0 when he wins game one in the playoffs.......they wil lcover lakers by 11 points....

if anyone has a bit of time on their hands, try this little study...

do a poll of the threads you see on page 1 of these forums... count up the following:

# of people who posted threads with bets on LA (-5.5)
# of people who posted threads with bets on Bos (+5.5)
# of people who posted threads with bets on LA ML
# of people who posted threads with bets on Bos ML

i just scanned through... and these were the numbers...

LA (-5.5)... 16 people
Bos (+5.5)... 2 people (me being one of them)
LA ML... 0 people (i did remember seeing one last night)
Bos ML... 2 people

according to that poll, if LA wins but Boston covers, out of 22 people, only 2 will win any money...

Ok, so now I'm in the right thread.

Well I finished reading everything and my opinion is unswayed, despite the red-ink rhetoric of whoever that was.

Every Laker opinion is just so...square. The support for the Lakers shows no real basketball knowledge and insight.

Boston is old, Kobe and Pau are awesome. Blah, blah, blah.
I just don't see the West Coast team faring well against a better coached, more physical, gritty Boston team. No one is mentioning Kendrick Perkins who is one of the most UNDERRATED centers in the game today. Somewhat limited offensively, but able to completely get in the head of the opposing 5 and literally beat him up. Sets nasty illegal screens that get no-called all game and is just downright mean.

I could drone on and on but in the end...if you are on the Lakers at this price, you my friend are a SQUARE. Sure squares win sometimes, but I WOULD RATHER LOSE A SHARP PLAY THAN WIN A SQUARE PLAY. Get it? Good.

i'm not going to go that far... but i do see your point... to take it another step... roughly 80% of the people on the Lakers (i counted last night on Moneyshots thread) are either located in California or they are hardcore Lakers fans...

i would say if you run this series 10 times the Celtics win it 8 times...

most people will argue with you on this... but i won't... because if you are "right" with the "square" play today, it is just more likely that you will be on the "square" play again tomorrow...

Yeah, you get it. Any good capper on here knows that we are pushing very slight edges. I mean 55% over the long haul is just not possible for most people. In the month of May I capped at a 47% win percentage when factoring in the push (50.1% when you take it out) and was up over 30 units. Why? Because I put in my money at Plus odds in coin flip situations. Value, value, value.

I took Boston for the series at +160 ! I did see some got it for 170 or 175 was that when the line initially came out ? Also thinking about total number of games. There are no guarantees but my feeling is if Boston wins the series it will go only six games. I have the 2008 series every game. I just remember Kobe yelling at his teammates and Curt Schilling blogging how that distanced him from the team. I am in Los Angeles and am a die-hard Boston Celtics fan. It was hard to hate Magic Johnson and he was great. It is so easy to hate Kobe though... I just don't see Kobe being so great. Bird and Magic made players around them better ! I have never seen that in Kobe !! KHS stands for Kobe Hating Syndrome. That is what my friends who are Laker fans tell me.There were 3 or 4 games in the playoffs where Kobe had over 10 assists. That is when the Lakers are scary and looked there best. Kobe has to win his way and thats just the way I see it... If he thinks that way in this series...Boston will win.

sorry this was explained on my earlier thread, and can be verified if you check the link on the first post...

i made a bet on Boston to win the title at (+180) before game 6 against Orlando... after they won game 6, i then made another bet on Boston to win the series vs LA at (+160)...

rather than post 1 unit at (+180) and 1 unit at (+170), i just simplified it to 2 units at (+170)...

that's a really tough call! take this with a grain of salt, because it is just one angle...

Kobe is the kind of guy who, if he DOESN'T score 30 in game 1, will almost DEFINITELY score over 30 in game 2... so i feel like you don't really have anything to go off of heading into game 1, but you might have a LOT to go off of with this prop heading into game 2...

obviously, Kobe can definitely go over 30... but for game 1, i don't have any feel for that prop... i will say this, the absolute worst case scenario is that you are looking at a coinflip scenario tonight, and you will still definitely have a shot at hitting it when the 4th quarter starts...

no... honestly... i've heard this one so many times, and i am the last person to defend Kobe... but i saw that game... it was over by the middle of the 2nd quarter... he came into the game feeling it, but his team was getting steam-rolled like few Finals games in the history of this sport...

what was the guy supposed to do exactly? i think there are very few people who wouldn't lose some air in their sneakers at that point...

there was no fucking way LA was winning that game... he could have literally shot 100% from the middle of the 2nd quarter to the end of the game and they still would have lost by double digits... that was an ambush and a steamrolling all rolled into one...
