Thanks
I'm not trying to be a dick, but please read through the forum postings a little bit. Just reading the first 3-4 pages should answer at least 3/4 of those questions.
Everybody around here is happy to help, but give us a little effort too. If there's something that's not quite covered or you're not sure about then, please ask.
I know there are flight posts, $20 trick posts, drinks/sportsbook posts, good restaurant posts, show/ticket posts, and strip clubs posts.

I'm assuming you are in Ontario. If you fly out of London or Toronto, check out Westjet. If you are close to the MI border, take Allegiant out of Grand Rapids.
Stay at an IP, Hooters, Excalibur, etc. A quality room costs money.
Comps are pretty much impossible up front. Do yourself a favor and join the M Life program for MGM. Then hit the Detroit MGM and get rated. In this economy, you will start getting offers for Vegas MGM hotels with comps. I am a minnow, but get rated because I have a tendency to spend my entire day in a blackjack pit.
If you want free drinks at a sportsbook but only play minimum bets, plan on playing the ponies...and tip the cocktail waitresses well. They won't come back if you are cheap.
Lastly, there are some phenomenal strip clubs in Vegas. If that is your thing, bring some cash. They are not cheap and you will be outbidded by every other MF in the room. It's called "pesonality"...if you have the pesos, the girls will find your personality compelling.
Do yourself a solid and read the first 2 pages of this forum. They will be more detailed. Vegas is not cheap, my friend. You can do it on a budget, but you get what you pay for.

Well any place you stay, get a players card of some sort and gamble there. If you really do roll over $25k at their property/properties, then you have a chance at getting something comped when you go to check out of your hotel room. If not, you should at least get comps for future trips. Try some of the harrahs lower end properties (ballys, flamingo, harrahs).
Every casino brings free drinks on the playing floor, as long as you're tipping.
Again, for shows and hotels, it's all about your preference and what you want to pay.
www.travelzoo.com is helpful if you click the LV links off the main page.

Bellagio I was told does not....everywhere I've been though I have to lay 100 bucks or so for a drink ticket but generally the guys at the window will give you two or three....sniff out the more generous ones....a tip or two will help.
If you got 5k to play with and you feel you'll be rolling it over that many times I'd fucking not worry too much about a 7-8 dollar drink

DJ,
My apologies. I had it in my head that you were looking to live off $100 a day. Your bankroll will do you well.
As mentioned before, I am a minnow. My max bet is a nickel...but I am more comfortable with buck bets. If you intend to lay some heavy action at a book vice the tables, ensure they are AWARE, i.e. players card, etc. I'm unsure exactly how one would get rated at a book though because my action is too small to even register on the richter scale...so I don't bother.
Again...any offers I ever get are based on my BJ time.

dj....
No negativity, no hating...just some honest advice....AND, once again, I have to say that I find no connection, whatsoever, between betting sports and getting drunk.
If you drink beer, then hang out in the racebook, make a few $2 bets, tip the waitress a buck and she'll keep bringing you beers as long as you play a couple of horses...Bet the favorite to show.
If you drink shots or mixed drinks, then be prepared for lousy booze...usually watered-down and ALWAYS "bottom shelf" from the service bar.
If you are playing in the casino, but not the hi-limit area, you will get free drinks with the same poor results on quality.
...and if you don't care about the quality, or don't know the difference, then I have to go back to my original question/observation...."What's the connection between betting sports and getting drunk?"
I know and have many sharps/pros as friends/acquaintances....Not one of them drinks more than one beer when actively betting; and to make money in this town, you have to be aware and active, non-emotional, when you are in the books.

OK dj, a little more observation here for you.......
Since you have never been here, then...trust me...you have never been exposed to the depth and breadth of sports betting that you will experience. I don't care if your "local" is your uncle...Vegas and the options that it offers is unique.
There is no way that you can use that "cap in the morning, make my own lines, bet my games, get drunk" method and turn your bankroll over 5 times in this town. The temptations and range of what you will experience will have you chasing before the second day is over.
You are a "square"...nothing wrong with that...But, understand, this town was built by and for squares....If you think that you can break even, then expect to lose. If you understand that, expectantly, you will lose....then you can have a chance to win.
Please try to understand that last sentence....I see this everyday; my associates see it everyday.
No hating, no bashing, no negativity...just the reality of Vegas.
