Some friends and I booked a trip their in August and that's where we are staying. I know it's probably not going to be that nice, but we don't plan on staying at our room very long anyways.

Thanks for info.

I have been to Vegas probably 20 times and I think I have been in Circus Circus maybe twice. All I remember is tripping over baby strollers every where I walked. They had a decent buffet and that's about the only good thing I can say about the place, unless for some reason you like trailer parks and big tops.
As far as poker rooms, Bellagio, Mirage and Venetian are all top notch. Good luck.

Yeah I agree... unless for some reason you are bringing the family and small children (would highly recommend against the children part) then Circus Circus is pure trailer park trash. I don't care if you are not going to be staying in your room much pay an extra $20-$30 and stay somewhere midstrip like Paris, Planet Hollywood or Ceasers. In Vegas that money will be pocket change anyway.

circus circus is a joke for gamblers, it is more for the "jon & kate +8" crowd. do yourself a favor and book reservations somewhere else, i would rather stay at any hotel downtown than at the circus circus..

I stayed there a couple years ago. I was trying to save a few bucks and had the same idea ( I won't be in my room very much, I'll still be on the strip, etc. ). Well I ended up in some sort of stand alone motel thing closer to Industrial Road than the strip. Technically still the Circus Circus, but about as far away from Las Vegas Blvd that you can get and still be considered staying on the strip. Anyway, from the room you have to walk a half mile across the parking lot and a street just to get to an escalator that takes you up to the very back of the hotel. You then walk another 15 minutes just to get to the main casino off the strip! And not in the middle of the strip...a $20 cab ride or a 30 minute walk just to get to the middle of the strip. If I would have known what I know now, I would have at least made sure that was staying in the main hotel minutes from the casino. But that's more expensive, and like a previous poster said, you might as well stay elsewhere for a few more bucks. I've stayed at the Monte Carlo (nobody talks about it but it's a decent place to stay and gamble), the Rio (great price but I had a friend with a car and could take his car or a shuttle to the strip), Excalibur (didn't like it) and the MGM Grand (my favorite so far). I'll be there again this fall and will either stay at the MGM again or maybe try the NYNY. Anyway, don't stay at Circus Circus. It may seem like a good deal now, but you'll only be disappointed. Spend a few more dollars and take a trip you'll remember, not regret.

Repeating what bad said if you got the cheap rate you are probably on the back forty parking lot. This being Aug. there will be a wait every time you use the tram, escalator, or eat. Also one thing I noticed. This is the place that many SE Asians book with their familes. Many of these parents have no concern for child knappers and these kids literally merely orbit the family grroup. You can't walk any where in this place.

Young One has that right, may have been THE best steak place as far as the food goes, I ever ate. One guy had lamb chops the biggest & most tender (I stole a bite) in my life. But it's a total dump, some hot MILF's tho.

CC has a crappy location and it's a dump too. If you wanna go cheap and stay on the strip, I recomend Tropicana (great pool, great location) or Excalibur (great location, good gaming) or Imperial Palace (FANTASTIC LOCATION, but kinda crapyy like CC)...
Any of this would be wiser choices if trying to go as cheap as possible!
