NYR vs DAL Covers Picks
View all Covers PicksStars to win in regulation (-120)
Most of Dallas’ success this season has come on home ice, where they’re skating to a record of 13-4-0. Over their last 10 games, the Stars have been averaging just 2.90 goals per game. But when it comes to playing at home, they have been much better, scoring 3.47 goals per contest. There aren’t many positives to talk about regarding the Rangers. This 14-game stretch has been rough, but their last five games have been a complete and utter disaster. They have scored just one power-play goal on 11 attempts and can’t get anything cooking. Adam Fox is leading the team in points in the last five games with one goal and two assists as this forward group has been hushed. It won’t get any easier for the Rangers forwards tonight as they will go up against Jake Oettinger, who is 16-8-0 this season with a .909 save percentage and a 2.43 goals against average.
Mika Zibanejad Under 0.5 points (-115)
The Rangers continue to lose and have scored just seven goals over the last five games. Mika Zibanejad is skating on the third line and I’m not worried about him contributing to the power play, especially with Artemi Panarin not rushing back to the lineup. Zibanejad is worth a fade for zero points today at -115. He hasn’t recorded a point in three straight games and has pointed in just 43% of his games over the last 30 days. Tonight is also a bad matchup for the Rangers. Stars goalie Jake Oettinger was just pulled in his last start, which was also his birthday, so the Rangers will get an angry version of a Top-5 goalie. Couple that with Zibanejad playing with Reilly Smith and Jimmy Vesey at even strength and getting under 16 minutes of ice time of late, and you have a great recipe for a player Under tonight.
