Baylor 52, Texas Tech 45 (OT): Glasco Martin ran 4 yards for the deciding touchdown in overtime and the Bears held on to beat the Red Raiders in a see-saw battle at Cowboys Stadium.
Martinกฏs second touchdown ended a game that had four lead changes in the fourth quarter as Baylor (6-5, 3-5 Big 12) became bowl eligible. Bears quarterback Nick Florence passed for 396 yards and three touchdowns, including a 4-yard scoring strike to Terrance Williams for a 42-38 lead with 8:58 left in regulation.
Seth Doege threw for 359 yards and three scores for Texas Tech (7-5, 4-5), which has lost four of its last five. Doege connected with Darrin Moore for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the second putting the Red Raiders ahead 45-42 with 6:19 left in the fourth. Moore finished with 13 receptions for 186 yards.
Eddie Lackey had a fumble recovery and two interceptions, the first of which he returned 55 yards for a score to give Baylor its first lead 35-31 just 16 seconds into the fourth quarter. Aaron Jones made a 22-yard field goal to tie the game 45-45 with 2:48 left but missed a 48-yarder as time expired to send the game to overtime.
Doege ran 19 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and connected with Eric Ward (nine catches, 113 yards) for a 23-yard scoring strike 43 seconds into the second quarter for a 21-7 lead. Florence answered with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Levi Norwood with 5 seconds left in the first half, pulling the Bears within 21-14.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Jakeem Grantกฏs 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the first for Texas Tech since Vince Meeks went 98 yards for a score in 2002. กญ Williams had 175 yards receiving for Baylor to break Kendall Wrightกฏs single-season school record with 1,693. กญ Baylor, which received 136 yards rushing from Lache Seastrunk, has won the last two against Texas Tech after losing 15 straight.
