North Carolina State 37, Wake Forest 6: Mike Glennon threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns to lead the host Wolfpack to a win over the ACC rival Demon Deacons.
The win makes North Carolina State bowl eligible and snaps a two-game losing streak. Glennon completed 25 of 41 passes and was aided by a much-improved running game. Shadrach Thornton ran for 110 yards on 27 carries and Tony Creecy added a rushing touchdown - a welcome change for the Wolfpack (6-4, 3-3 ACC), which had averaged only 48 yards on the ground in its last four outings.
Wake Forest was limited to 185 yards on offense. Michael Campanaro contributed to the only score for the Deacons (5-5, 3-5 ACC), tossing a 39-yard touchdown pass to fellow wideout Terence Davis, after a lateral from Tanner Price. Davis finished with four catches for 66 yards.
North Carolina State jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Campanaro-to-Davis strike and took a 17-6 lead into halftime. The Wolfpack defense regained its composure, holding the Demon Deacons to only six points after giving up an average of 38 in its previous two.
Bryan Underwood added eight catches for 76 yards for the Wolfpack.
