Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid props for June 1
Prop bet #1: Vini meeny mini moe
Jude Bellingham might be Real Madrid’s top goal scorer this season but we’ll be backing the man second in the team, Vinicius Junior, to score this Saturday. As excellent as Bellingham has been this campaign, just six of his 23 Real goals have come since the turn of the year.
On the other hand, 17 of Vinicius Junior’s goals have come since the clock struck midnight on 2023.
The 23-year-old has exploded down the stretch and has only further cemented himself as one of the best players of his generation. His pace and dribbling terrify defenses and his ability to get into dangerous positions is the reason why he’s been so clinical.
He’s been clutch this season, scoring four times against Barcelona and twice against Bayern Munich in the semis.
Vinicius Junior prop: Anytime goal (+134 at TonyBet)
Prop bet #2: In the books
In many ways, we’re doubling down on a big game for Vini Jr. with our next bet. We’ll be taking Julian Ryerson, Dortmund’s right back to get booked.
The Norwegian has played across the Dortmund lineup this season but the bulk of his games have been on the right side of the defense. His disciplinary record is pretty good, with just five cards in 31 games between the Champions League and Bundesliga, but now he faces one of the toughest matchups of his season.
The only left-sided player who is more dangerous than Vinicius is Kylian Mbappe, a player Ryerson met earlier in the season and picked up a yellow card against.
With his speed and directness, we often see defenders having to bring Vinicius down with a foul, as shown by the fact he’s fouled 2.59 times per 90 minutes played in La Liga. It’s going to be a tough game for Ryerson and he’s directly in the firing line and likely to get booked.
Julian Ryerson prop: To be booked (+265 at TonyBet)
Prop bet #3: Full Monty
It’s not all about the danger in the Real Madrid attack, we also need to consider the threat that Dortmund possesses, and it’s Niclas Fullkrug who’ll be in the penalty box and causing the Spaniards trouble. Fullkrug has played well for Dortmund this season even if his tally of 15 goals hasn’t set the Bundesliga alight.
Despite that goals tally he’s been consistent at taking shots and hitting the target, even if they haven’t resulted in goals.
In the Bundesliga, he’s averaged 1.09 shots on target per 90 minutes, which dips slightly to 0.95 on target in the Champions League. Given the likely game-script, that would see Dortmund chasing a goal, it means we’re likely to see desperation and the German striker taking plenty of shots to get his team back into the game.
Niclas Fullkrug prop: Over 0.5 shots on goal (-120 at TonyBet)
