The ring wing has 27 points on the season. Macklin Celebrini is right there at the top of Calder Trophy odds boards as he now has 23 points on the season. Celebrini had a monster game against the Blues on Dec. 12 with a pair of goals and an assist.
Previous Calder Trophy betting action
11/13/2024: The biggest obstacle in Michkov's way of winning the Calder Trophy seems to be his own coach, with Tortorella scratching the youngster in back-to-back games. Despite the bump, the Russian is still No. 1 on the odds board, with Logan Stankoven and a returning Macklin Celebrini rounding out the Top 3. Keep an eye on Celebrini, who has three goals in five games thus far.
10/30/2024: An injury to Macklin Celebrini dropped him out of the race early, but Logan Stankoven made sure Matvei Michkov wasn't going to run away with the award so easily. Michkov has nine points through 10 outings. Stankoven is right there with him, with nine points of his own. Celebrini has begun skating again, so this could turn into a three-man race If the Hsarks' rookie can come back in proper shape.
10/10/2024: Matvei Michkov and Macklin Celebrini were the talk of the town during the offseason, but it's the Philly youngster who's taken an early lead on the Calder odds board. The older Michkov scored seven points in four preseason games and looks to be adjusting to the NHL level well. Regular-season play will give us a better idea of just how good this kid will be.
9/23/2024: Of all the NHL awards, the Calder Trophy is the most likely to see much movement through the preseason as this is the time the rookies can showcase their talents and earn more minutes headed into the season. As of now, Macklin Celebrini's two-point effort in the Sharks' first game has him tied with Matvei Michkob for the No. 1 spot on the board at most books. Not to be outdone, Michkov also collected a pair of assists. Depending on how the season plays out, this could be an epic rookie race, with Logan Stankoven and Lane Hutson lurking.
9/5/2024: We've officially reached a month where NHL hockey will be played! Preseason action is set to take place in just a few weeks, but Calder odds have remained largely the same since they were released. Matvei Michkov stands as the favorite, with Macklin Celebrini and Logan Stankoven close behind.
6/30/2024: Things are a little more interesting than last season regarding Calder odds where Connor Bedard broke his jaw and still never wavered as the best rookie. Many thought mega-prospect Macklin Celebrini would be favored to win top-rookie honors, but Matvei Michkov announcing he'd be leaving the KHL to come across seas has made things much more interesting. The first-year Flyer currently edges out both Celebrini and Logan Stankoven as we enter summer months.
4/24/2024: This award was Connor Bedard's to lose since his name was called on draft day, and even a broken jaw couldn't deter him from his destiny, Bedard closed as the monster favorite and now just has to wait until season's end to land his first (of many) NHL awards.

Understanding NHL Calder odds
Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. When the regular season is nearly finished and a consensus has emerged, you might see a player with a minus sign (-) ahead of his odds, like this:
- Matvei Michkov -400
The (-) means that Michkov is the odds-on favorite, and a bettor would need to wager $400 to win $100. Other contenders in the Calder race might have plus (+) odds to win.
- Macklin Celebrini +650
Here, a bettor stood to profit $650 for every $100 wagered.
If American odds aren't your thing, simply use a tool like our odds converter to switch the odds to decimal or fractional format. Most online sportsbooks also give you the option to change the odds format that you see.
