NBA player props for December 6
Prop bet #1: Trae Young Under 20.5 points
The Atlanta Hawks have been ravaged by injuries this season, but they’ve finally managed to get healthy, and it’s paying off in the form of a five-game winning streak.
Atlanta now sits at 12-11, and that’s without Trae Young showing out to the level we’re used to seeing from him. Young is averaging 20.7 points along with 12 assists and 3.9 rebounds while shooting just 30% from 3-point land.
While the Hawks’ bench has stepped it up during this unbeaten streak, "Ice Trae" isn’t playing very well. He’s failed to hit the Over in points in four of his last five contests and barely cleared the total for tonight in that one game, finishing with 21 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Young is also dealing with Achilles tendinitis at the moment, which is likely part of the reason he’s not as productive from a scoring standpoint. The Los Angeles Lakers are a solid team when it comes to containing point guards, allowing just 21.9 PPG this season.
Trae will have another quiet one.
Prop bet #2: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 30.5 points
The Milwaukee Bucks have finally found their footing and "The Greek Freak" is balling out.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging a league-best 32.6 points along with 11.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Even when Milwaukee was struggling, Giannis was still his dominant self. No one in the Association can stop the big man.
Antetokounmpo is on a heater right now, hitting the Over in points in five of his last six outings. That includes a pair of 40+ games, and another where he dropped 37 points. The 30-year-old is extremely consistent and continues to play with a lot of confidence.
Sure, the Boston Celtics are a good defensive team, but Giannis already scored 43 against them last month and 30 before that.
Although Boston is allowing just 22.9 points per contest to power forwards, Antetokounmpo isn’t just any power forward. He’s an unstoppable figure who has a hot hand. Whether it’s a victory or not for Milwaukee, Giannis will erupt.
Prop bet #3: Josh Giddey Over 6.5 assists
An offseason trade for Josh Giddey has paid off for the Chicago Bulls. The Aussie has proven to be a key player for the organization, averaging 11.9 points, 6.7 dimes, and 6.2 boards. We’re going to focus on Giddey’s playmaking because it’s arguably his best skill set.
Giddey is the Bulls’ top facilitator, and as we saw for a few years during his OKC Thunder days, the guard has fantastic court vision. He’s cashed the Over in dimes in five of the last seven games, even dishing out 11 a few nights ago at home versus the Brooklyn Nets.
Need more evidence? The 22-year-old averaged 7.5 dimes in three outings against the Indiana Pacers in 2023-24. They are struggling defensively this season, sitting 25th in defensive rating. They’re also allowing 29.3 assists per night across the last three games.
Giddey will be picking apart the Pacers tonight.
