Two teams trying to work their way into the play-in section of the Western Conference picture collide in San Antonio as the San Antonio Spurs host the Sacramento Kings.
San Antonio, who have taken the first two of this 4-game regular-season set, are 3.5-point home underdogs in the NBA odds, as the status of 2nd-year star Victor Wembanyama (back) is still undetermined.
Both clubs will be playing the second half of a back-to-back Friday night, so our Kings vs. Spurs prediction and NBA picks are targeting the total in this matchup.

My best bet
Under 227.5 (-110 at bet365)
My analysis
The Sacramento Kings are trying to pull itself out of a tough stretch, as they've picked up just two wins in the last nine, including Thursday's 115-110 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The offense has dried up during this stretch, averaging 109.3 points per game, with that number shrinking to 104.8 over the four road games, shooting 43.1% from the field and a dismal 28.2% from 3-point range.
The defense hasn't been able to hold the fort down, either, as teams are shooting a crisp 47.8% from the field and 38.4% from 3-point range.
The San Antonio Spurs limps into Friday's matchup, having dropped three of its last four, including a 139-124 whipping against the Bulls.
Without Victor Wembanyama – a top contender in the NBA Defensive Player of the Year odds – Chicago shot 57.8% from the field and torched the Spurs from distance, connecting on 17-for-37 from three, a 45.9% clip.
While the Spurs have won two straight in this head-to-head, Sacramento still owns this matchup, having taken seven of the last 10.
But these will be a pair of tired teams, and their numbers in playing back-to-backs have me leaning Under the 227.5 scoring line.
This will be San Antonio's fifth time playing on consecutive nights, and in each of those games second games, they have only reached the 220-point plateau twice, falling Under this total all four times.
Sacramento's games have hit the Over three out of five times on back-to-back nights, but let's add a little context: save for an OT loss in Toronto, where it scored 128 points, the Kings have only mustered an average of 105.5 points across the other four.
The fatigue factor plays a big role in this one, and scoring should grind down to rock-fight status by the fourth quarter.
Kings vs Spurs same-game parlay
While the wins haven't been coming, DeMar DeRozan has been getting it done on offense. He finished with a team-high 26 points in the loss to Memphis, and he's had 26 or more in three of the last four outings.
One of those games came against these same Spurs, as DD shot 10-for-20 from the field en route to 28 points.
He has scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven against the Spurs over the last four seasons, so he'll definitely be around the number.
